I wouldn't give up living with my boyfriend for the world, but sleeping in the middle of the bed surrounded by a pillow and blanket fort is my THING. Also sleeping on the couch instead of bed. He does graciously allow me to have one body pillow and one blankie in the bed. :) The Joys and Drawbacks of Living Solo |

I'm fortunate enough to have visited Hemingway's home. His garden is so beautiful, and the way the house is set up if you open the huge doors in the main hallway the air flows through so nicely. Of course, the whole island is beautiful. ;) Literary Style: 15 Writers' Bedrooms |

We use these same shelves in our home office to display all of our geekery. :) We'll probably leave them for our landlord when we leave too as they were very cheap and match the wood floor. Keeping Things in Perspective Corner Blog |

I feel left out. :( I use those little black clocks with faux wood panelling. I had a childrens version of the dream machine when I was little that had a star night light on it. :) Product Nostalgia: An Ode to the (Discontinued!) Sony Dream Machine |

I was actually about to send in a picture of my nightmare bathroom for some help from the readers. The faucet is on the top of my list, since the knobs are so hard to turn on the one I currently have. :( Fast Fixes: Small, Landlord Friendly Upgrades For the Bathroom Renters Solutions |

My landlord has allows me to do repairs as needed and take off the rent. Last month our refrigerator went out. He let us go ahead and buy a new fridge (scratch and dent for $447) and keep the remainder of the $600 rent to replace all the food that was spoiled. :) Likewise we don't have to pay for the new carpet, mailbox, deck stain, or anything else we will need to do to the house. I don't eat until I get to work. I'm just not hungry until about 8:30. My weekend, however, is reserved for Belgian waffles. :) 5 Tricks To Help Grown-Ups Eat Breakfast |

I am a product of the '80s, and I remember having as much stuff as these pictures. I am actually having to force myself (now that I have graduated from college and am renting a house) to expand my wardrobe for work, decorate the place that I live, and actually unpack all of my boxes! If you have a camera with a chargeable battery, before you do your first charge you should run the battery until it's dead. The initial charge sets up how much juice your battery can hold, so you want to start from zero. At least, that's what I've been told. ;) The First 5 Things to Do with Your New Camera |

I have this same problem it seems every time I move. It's just all brown everywhere. I have an orange ottoman, white rugs, and green curtains. Definitely add some colorful art or storage (hooks, shelves) to the walls. I think shelves would allow you to add even more colorful things. I'm going to use my grandmother's paintings. my dad had that exact coffee table with the two drawers on the side and the rail between them. he took all the stuff off the top, sanded and stained it, and added a piece of glass to the top. his wife displays things she crochets under the glass The Daily Scavenger: Eastern Edition 12.16.11 |

I would use them. :) Grandmas very rarely bought things just to sit around and be pretty. I really love the shoe box idea. Every time you pull them out, it will be like a gift from grandma, and you can think of all the happy holidays you spent with your family at grandma's every time you use them. I had this layout in my dorm room in college (sans headboard), and it isn't very practical. My pillow always fell off or I would find myself so far up the bed my head was tilting off. It looks nice though! Apartment Therapy San Francisco | Distancing the Bed from the Wall |
