I'm a huge thrifter as well-95% of the items in my home were purchased for cheap but are one-of-a-kind, never give them up kind of items to me. In my first somewhat-but-not-really-too-far move (Indiana to Minnesota) I got rid of 90% of my belongings...and I didn't even have much to begin with. A few "across town" moves later-each one I acquired a few big furniture pieces beforehand since each rental was nicer than the last and it seemed fitting. But, my husband and I are facing a big move from the Minneapolis metro to just outside of Seattle in less than a year and I don't know whether to gather more things because who knows what I'll find there and the biggest issue, how much harder to nab or more expensive might those thrifted things be. We salvage furniture so something damaged is not an issue but I just don't know what the craigslist and thrifting scene will hold compared to what I'm used to. Good question! It wasn't until a few years that I discovered the greatness of Lillet blanc. I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to find enough cocktail drinks to add it to but we ended up sipping it. It is even better on its own. My Favorite Warm Weather Aperitif: Lillet on Ice |

I found a recipe for a sort of chicken noodle soup and instead of herb dumplings, I added tortellini and it also had a broth infused with Parmesan-nothing short of amazing with the chives....mouth watering. I made a huge batch (minus the pasta) and froze it for that special in-law visit coming up. I can't wait to try this. I'm getting those vibes that this is equally, if not more, amazing. I'm so glad you wrote this! My husband and I moved from our homestate of Indiana to Minnesota and have had a very difficult time making friends and regular social interactions. I'm now 30 and in less than a year we're transferring to Seattle for his job. I also work at home, used to have a great social life and find myself struggling to find people I mesh with. The transplant experience and our last 5 years in Minnesota makes me feel that I know what might lie ahead in Seattle. I could use just one really amazing person (besides my husband) in my life. And I'm going to stop feeling so bad about the relationships I've tried not working out here. 10 Tried & True Tips: How to Make New Friends in a New City |

I will drive about 2 hours, maybe a little more or less, but always with my husband along. He won't let me go alone which complicates things since our work schedules conflict but helps since he'll take things apart with or for me. More than half of our things are from the Twin Cities area craigslist so we make it work. How Far Would You Travel For A Craigslist Find? |

I love mine but my adoration might be increased because my food processor is a mini. An immersion blender was one of the first things I bought on my small budget when I began to cook on a regular basis and use I it for soups, salsa, whipped cream and for beans...probably a few more things too. I love chiles en adobo in soups, bean dips, lasagna, shepherd's pie... pretty much a dab in almost everything at my house. Once I open that can, I place them in a jar or air tight container and dip into it for weeks. Ingredient Spotlight: Chiles en Adobo |

I'm a fan of dry Riesling for my Thanksgiving (and beyond) but my family prefers more of a dessert wine so a local winery's blackberry under $15 will make them happy this year. Thanksgiving Wines: What's On Your Table This Year? |

My grandma always rolled and cut them out too which is also how I choose to make my dumplings. She didn't use Bisquick though but a simple flour, water, milk, butter and baking powder mix. Oh, the delicious memories! Recipe: Chicken and Dumplings |
