Some miscellaneous mouse related thoughts: I have read that better than peanut butter for trap bait is peanut butter with anise seed mixed with it. Some people have luck with the 'sonar' things that mice hate the sound of. We had very bad luck with sticky traps once----we threw them away with the mouse still alive on it and the mice were somehow able to free themselves and eat their way out of the garbage bag. There is absolutely nothing to water bath canning. Make sure that you follow the recipe exactly; make sure everything is very clean and sterile; follow the timing exactly; make sure that the jar lids are wiped clean before they are sealed and that's about it. You can go to any carpet store, select carpet that you want, tell them the size rug that you need and they will have the carpet bound to finish the 4 edges for you. You can also add a border around the edge if you would like. It's a great way to get any size and color of area rug that you want.
