We got the Ikea play gym that's linked above. It was $25 well spent. It looks beautiful in the corner of our living room. Our guy loved it around 3-4 months. Later he played with the toys separately. He's still intrigued by the spinning pieces on the sides. He pulled himself to standing using it, though quickly discovered that won't work :) Don't worry I was right behind him and it stays against the wall. It's still as good as new and I'm definitely going to reuse it for future babies.

Beautiful pics, but I bet none of those people do South Asian cooking on a regular basis.

Using first person plural is the editorial policy on this website.

Actually my in-laws do live with us. For many Indian and Pakistani families, it is the norm. Personally, I was hoping that they wouldn't be living with us until a little later, when they're older. But that's not how it worked out. Sure, it's a struggle sometimes, because there's a lot of respect and precedents given to elders and a good son or daughter are supposed to consider their parents' needs above their own. On the other hand, its not as bad as it could have been. I think its taught me to be more giving and less selfish. But they are likely going to name our children when we have them, and I'm still having difficulty accepting that. It helps though that they are very considerate of us, and if they choose a name I don't like, I'm sure they'll come up with one I do like.

Are you several people? Suffering from multiple personality disorder? Honestly, I don't understand any editorial policy which calls on writers to use "we" instead of "I." THis would just sound so much better in first person.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I love the content on this website, love your links and everything. But its really difficult to read people writing in the first person plural, and you do it way too much. Please, just use I or write from a neutral p-o-v. For instance, saying "who sleeps on silk sheets?" would make the point.... you don't need the "we wondered... because we never do." This is the same reason I can't stand the gapers block blog.

As for the silk bet sheets. Don't know, never had them myself.
