After using this and the old tennis ball trick (fluffs up pillows, blankets, etc.), I combined the two and covered the tennis ball with foil. It doesn't take as much foil and keeps things from bunching together in the dryer.

Don't use a glue gun on the walls. There is too much potential for damage. To adhere fabric to walls, use starch.

I've seen this done to an entire wall where painting was prohibited. Removal was a breeze and required little clean up.

Definitely bring more color into the room that will play to the wood. There are a lot of great suggestions here.

My guy can't sleep in a bed. He can only sleep on a sofa. Because of this, we've never actually slept together. But it's fine because I've never been able to really share a bed with anyone.

The whole separate-beds-separate-bedrooms idea has saved a lot of relationships from what I've heard from others. Historically, spouses often had separate bedrooms except for the poor. Sleeping in the same bed, or even bedroom, was not considered acceptable for anyone other than the lower classes.

No plant ever to enter my home has ever survived no matter what I do. I think I scare them to death.

I worked at Restoration Hardware over the holidays a couple of years ago and that is a style that was to be discontinued in 2008. It was being phased out when I was there. I don't remember the product style name. I have seen a similar style at Lowe's recently, but the ones RH carries are of better quality.

I used to travel a lot for work. At one hotel in Texas, someone tried to force their way into my room in the middle of the night. I woke up, started screaming, and pounded on the wall. It scared them off and everyone else on the floor. The next morning I found out another woman's room was broken into the night before.

Another of the guests recommended I get loud bells or windchimes to place on the door knob. That became standard practice for me and I adopted that for my apartment. I have windchimes/bells on my front and balcony doors, as well as the bedroom and bathroom doors. They make a lot of noise when opening the doors. They are not exactly deterrents but they will wake me quickly enough so I have a chance to fight back.

For lotions in a pump bottle, cut off the top portion of the bottle. Place the bottom in a pan of boiling water until the lotion becomes runny. Pour into a small jar and use a spatula to get the last bit out.

For the remaining lotion bottle, invert the top into the bottom portion and use as a small planter for herbs or african violets. Place gravel in the bottom to steady and act as a reservoir; put a large rock in the bottle neck to act as a stopper but allows water to pass around the edges; then fill with potting material and plants.
