As a Parisian dweller I wholeheartedly agree with all your suggestions. But the photos you have chosen should be rather captioned "How to decorate like a wealthy Parisian." Given that real-estate prices average 9,000 euros per square metre (and soar to 13,000 in upmarket areas like Odeon, featured in one of the photos above) many of us with normal jobs live in much smaller apartments

How To Decorate Like a Parisian

My tiny kitchen in Paris has a fantastic view of Montmartre rooftops but no counter space whatsoever, so I know your predicament. I have invested in Ikea's Grundtal stainless steel rails and knife rack, a wooden chopping board - also from Ikea - to cover the sink and a compact dish drainer from Umbra (http://www.umbra.com/ustore/product/tub-dish-rack.store). Muji makes a slimline bin that is a godsend for tiny kitchens (http://www.muji.us/store/housekeeping/dust-boxes/pp-dustbox-w-lid-l-sep-type.html)
