Like the black shutters. I'd leave it white and paint the steps dark gray or black. The steps the same color of the house makes the door look like it's floating. Color Suggestions For Front Door & Shutters? Good Questions |

Since you just bought your place, congrats by the way, I'd just live with it a while first to see how you use the space. It's already a nice kitchen. I'd consider just lightening up the backsplash(or possibly mirrors), add under cabinet lighting and add a couple of stools at the bar and call it a day. How Can We Open Up Our Kitchen? Let's face it, not many of us are buying Park Ave. apartments and spending a cool $1M on reno. Personally, painted over wallpaper is a half-assed job. One leak and you’re doomed to remove it anyway and it will be an exponentially worse job to do. Just do it right the first time.
