I have not found a replacement for my old, long-blade dandelion tool - current models are just too short. One way to buy some time, develop potential gardeners, and create valuable good will, is to put a bounty on the flowers - say, two or three to a penny. Get your new bff neighbor kids (with parental permission) to save all from dreaded re-seeding. Counting and calculating are educational bonus factors, and the kids are unlikely to compact the soil too much.
