Not to sound like a fanboy, but I have a Globe Trotter briefcase and despite how pretty it looks, it's built for the ages (I'm a consultant and am on the road 4 days / week so I ask a lot from my luggage). Edmund Hillary used the same stuff to get to Mt. Everest and that worked out alright for him... Luggage for Travels Near & Far High & Low |

I think it depends on the decor overall. If the colors of the walls, furniture, and accessories are all of the same palette it draws the space together and creates a bigger impact than just white walls could. To Paint or Not to Paint: Selling a Colorful Home? |

I love the look but wonder how to integrate it with the rest of the room / home. Could you do one wall in lacquer as an accent and then leave the other walls matte in the same color? I think an entire living room of shiny could be a bit much. Shiny Happy Lacquered Walls |

I like how the first picture has a bit of a trompe l'oeil effect - making the staircase seem longer and the corridor bigger. Spruced Up Steps |

Good idea but not my aesthetic. Reminds me too much of Patches the Sad Clown. Before & After: Annie's Fabric Sample Slipcover |

If I lived in something larger than an 800 sq ft condo my bedroom would probably be private. As it is, I need the extra space when I have people over and the only bathroom opens up to the living area and the bedroom so it's kind of a moot point. Is Your Bedroom Off-Limits to Guests? |

I honestly don't mean to be nit-picky about the writing, but I just can't parse this sentence and it's been bugging me all afternoon. Can someone please translate? Swing Top Glass Bottles | Apartment Therapy New York |

The best first thing you can do during a spill is to dump a lot of salt on the spill. Literally pour it on - salt is much more effective at quickly absorbing liquids than blotting is, and you don't rub the stain into the fabric at all. Then let it sit for 2 or 3 minutes and vacuum it up. Whatever stain is left you can then treat with a spot-treatment. The Best Stain-Guard Products? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy New York |

I love the look of a low bed, but agree that they're tough to deal with in real life - and I didn't even think about the bug or mold issues! How Low Can You Go? | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

That room is vile. Forget about sleeping in it, I get a headache just looking at it. All the b&w patterns make for a bad moiré effect and I'm not a big fan of the color choices either. Guess The Decade: Black White Wallpapered Bedroom | Apartment Therapy Chicago |

I have a (museum gift shop) Chinese brush painting that works 100x better leaned up against the wall and partially hidden by a plant than it does against the wall. There's something about the nonchalant treatment of things that are (usually) expensive that makes a statement. Apartment Therapy Boston | Do You Display Art Off the Wall?Survey |

I saw this house first hand during the Modern Atlanta home tour. The photos don't do it justice - what you can't see is how they subtly and seamlessly progressed from traditional furniture / design in the front (older) part of the house to modern in the back. It was my favorite house on the tour, and gives me hope for design in Atlanta! Apartment Therapy DC | Modern Addition in Atlanta: Ansley Park Glass House Contemporist |
