I see three incorrect aspect ratios! But I guess they're just Photoshopped in.
I didn't see Rainn Wilson as an above-the-fireplace screen placement guy, and Ann Hathaway must never want to watch a movie until sundown..

Related to # 4: Don't sit *so* far away from the TV that it has to compete with everything else in the room for your attention (this may be a subjective judgment), and don't put the screen too high (above the fireplace) or too low (practically on the floor)--both are prescriptions for neck strain.

My shower times me out by running out of hot water, so I don't need any fancy devices!

Since I was just moving to another apartment in the same neighborhood, I moved the delicate tech stuff (including the TV) ahead of time, along with a few other fragile items. Then I let the movers deal with the furniture, clothes, and boxes and boxes of books DVDs, and CDs.

Don't people differentiate between private email and work email? I check my personal email account at home when I wake up, then I go to work and check my work email.

They do have an page called 'My Current Data Usage' on their Comcast Customer Central site. I've checked my usage (I have Netflix streaming), and I've barely gone above 30GB per month.

820 movies really isn't THAT many, if you're a cinephile. Even if you start from the beginning of sound movies, you'd just have about 10 movies per year up to the present...

My old cat got jealous of the computer, but the little guy I have now just has it in for books and magazines.

"As painful as it is, it's convenient to burn media, like movies and TV shows, onto DVDs to archive them. It's annoying, but it does get the job done."

Isn't this advice contrary to all the other posts on unplgged telling me that my physical media collection is passé?

I bought a 4-cup Mr. Coffee drip pot for about $20 for my office--it sits on my filing cabinet at work, and I have a stash of coffee next to it, and half-and-half in the breakroom next door.

It definitely saves money and time waiting in line at the coffee shop downstairs, and it's nice to smell the coffee brewing while I check my work emails at the beginning of the day (of course, I have to have coffee at home before I come in, too!).

My wife and I still have one, and we use it (though rarely) more than we use our cell phones. Since we moved, we get it in a cheap bundle with cable and internet, so there's no reason to drop it. Also, the signal always sounds clearer to me--which is nice when you're talking to older parents.

However, I wish cell phones had been commonplace 15-20 years ago when my friends and I all lived with roommates!

I divided our want list into must-haves, would-likes, and would-be-nices. As long as we could check off all the must-haves, then it was a place to seriously consider.

It's also a good idea to bring a checkbook, in case you want to put a hold deposit down. There may be other people looking at the place (as it was for our new place), so if you know you want it, it's good to strike while the iron is hot.
