Since you can sew, would you consider an orange velvet for behind your couch? It would be nice for fall and winter and goes wonderfully with the (corduroy couch?) and pillows. Instead of staying inside the window buy a rod that goes six inches past each side of the window so the floor length will fall behind the side tables. I think the scrunchi idea is the best. it will add color and texture to the "chandlier" which is pretty basic. and if you like it basic, pick a basic or linear scrunchi. i bet you could make your own! I would call the landlord AND the police. Tell the Landlord that youre going to call the police. Also- just for some personal fun. Instead of registering for china, I asked my mom if her gift to us could include my grandmothers(who has passed away) wedding china. So even though I dont use it, I dont mind because it still is sentimental and special to me-which is enough for me to keep it around.
