Looks spacious and clean, but it feels very cold and stark to me. I tend to go for more colour though.

Really? *THAT'S* a tough one? He's perfect in every way, but he doesn't like the same food, so let's just call it off. That's a recipe for being in your mid-40's and alone if I've ever heard one.

I use a lot of it in tahini dressing. I roughly follow the recipe I found here http://livingfoodslife.com/?p=406 . I replace the agave with honey. Pretty amazing recipe.

Holy crap. Not usually big on dessert recipes, but I might have to make an exception here.

For those of us without ice cream makers, can you just freeze it? Or is there something else you can do to mimic an ice cream maker? If I were to buy an ice cream maker it would be used exactly once, so I'm hoping there's another way to go about this.

They both have their place. You can't really make a good smoothie in a food processor, but you can't really make good hummus in a blender.

"it can bring the temperature of the fridge up to dangerously warm levels"

Where is this coming from? Do you have any stats to back it up? I've put relatively large, warm things in the fridge many times and the rest of the fridge has remained pretty frosty. When the temperature warms up, the compressor kicks in and cools it down.

I throw them on the grill with the husks still on. As a previous commenter said, when you smell corn you're done.

Boiling is the best way to remove all flavor and texture from your corn. Grilling them with the husk on basically steams them, so you get all the delicious sugars and the kernels stay firm.

Replace the sauce above with the following, and you have basically one of my favorite summer dishes:

1/3 cup fish sauce
1/3 cup rice vinegar
1/3 cup water
2 tbsp shredded carrot
6 cloves of garlic
1 small red chili
2 tbsp sugar, more if you like the sauce sweet as I do
juice of one lime

Using a mortar and pestle, smash up garlic cloves, chili and 1 tbsp of sugar until it forms a smooth paste. Put paste in a bowl and mix with other ingredients. Add sugar to taste (I like mine really sweet so I usually add 2 - 3 more tbsp of sugar).

All phones have the same issue in that the reception drops by a bar, maybe two. iPhone loses almost everything. It will drop your call. That's a huge issue. Unless you're an Apple Apologist.

"C) The byproduct of these technologies is: a lack of byproducts."

So I suppose when you upgrade to a real set of solar panels these ones just vanish into thin air? Evaporate into a cloud of good feelings and kittens? Keep in mind that this token attempt at solar power will be sitting in a landfill for a very long time.

Tech You've Learned To Live Without | Apartment Therapy Unplggd

Hmmm....from that DIY site:

"the panels are working fine and [...] give so far an average of 500Wh per week". That translates to 2kWh / month.

From http://www.peterboroughutilities.ca/Electric/Energy_Conservation/Electricity_Usage_in_the_Home.htm :

Clock: 4kWh / month

So if I'm reading this correctly, one of these DIY rigs can power one clock for 2 weeks per month? Pretty steep for that kind of output.

Thirded. What can you do with an iPad that you can't do with a smartphone, or if you want to go back further, a laptop? It's a laptop without a keyboard.

I keep coming back to this site hoping for some awesome posts about cool tech projects, but there's more and more Apple fanboyism and less and less actual tech.
