I'm a cement-floored loft dweller myself, and I can't help but think of how live (noise-wise) this space must be. I would not love that, especially with the open bathroom :-/
That said, it's a lovely space that could use some plushy rugs and places to lie on the floor

Yep, GPS doesn't know there are train tracks that turn all the streets that look like they go straight to our neighborhood into dead ends. We've had to train people for a year to not use their GPS and follow my directions instead. I feel like an old curmudgeon cursing that dab-fangled new technology.

Dig that third one.

My DIY suggestion would be to score the mirror along the edges of the frame and pop out the broken bits, then glue/affix a new mirror behind that's the size of the whole thing, then cover with luon or plywood as a backing to protect the whole thing.

Never done it meself, but might work.

There's also the "get over your nudity" thing. We have one bathroom for 4 roommates, and my partner likes taking baths.
If you can be cool with showering while someone's peeing- I guarantee your whole life will become a hell of a lot easier.

But more importantly- that wooden slatted platform would be PERFECT for our shower. What is it? Where can I find it?!

Gorgeous exterior. But the furniture? It looked like a corporate retreat center with the horribly upholstered chairs and benches.

But the exterior- spectacular.

I dig the inspiration and the style. AND, I second all the gender and writer vs. reader discussion. Let this comment be just one more person who dislikes the wallpaper. It reads retro A-line dress to me, not warm and scholarly at all.

I live in an open floorplan loft with my partner and 2 roommates. It's. . . odd. Our roommates have walls (we built them) and interior windows (those too). My partner and I have diaphanous curtains, and that's it. I would like walls just so every creak of our mattress (and there are many creaks) wouldn't be that audible to the rest of the household, but the space is magnificent and affordable, so we're simply getting used to it!
In the meantime, I'm hanging some reclaimed windows to create partitions for at least the illusion of privacy, and I keep the curtains pulled most of the time.

PLEASE tell me where I can find those steel bins on the shelves of the main pic! I've been searching in vain for those very things.
