It seems more sheer, but this looks a lot like the twill ladder print fabric available by the yard at Schoolhouse Electric.

Definitely paint the shutters black. The trim and panel around the window leave white. I agree with the idea of getting shutters that go to the bottom of the panel.

I have this rug. Would not recommend it unless you do not have pets or children and it will be in a room you do not use. The wool loops unravel and the white part always looks dingy no matter how much I vacuum. I have the red one.

Seems like every other post on every other design blog these day is sponsored by this or that retailer. This room is the originality and creativity we need to see more of. Beautiful room, beautiful colors, beautiful design. Very nicely done.

I have been thinking about doing this for a long time with this exact book .. also because I like the color scheme in the illustration so much. I think I will try it for our upstairs hallway.

Never would have picked this wall color. But, with the teal dresser it is just stunning! Love this.

Thanks for the questions Sussitout and Heela. The beds are from the Land of Nod. They are the Jenny Lind beds, which they still sell. I bought ours when the antique white style went on clearance a few years back. I believe that they only carry them in white now. Hope this helps!

Thank you for the kind comments! I did make the curtains using fabric from Amy Butler's Lotus line. The rug is indeed from CB2. I had my eye on this for a long time before I found the perfect spot for it the house. It is fun watching our two year olds try to play hopscotch. The pendant lampshade is from Velocity Art and Design (Norm 03). It has to be assembled, which is quite time consuming, but well worth the effort. The play kitchen is made by Elves and Angels, a family run business in Maine. I believe Nova Naturals sells it.

Yes, but she's missing some photos in the picture frames. ;) Kidding. Very impressive. I am struggling to complete just ONE room in my house before our August 6th deadline of living here two years.

I second the idea of having crib bedding custom made in some of Amy Butler's fabrics. I am just finishing up my daughters' room and we did gray walls with fabrics from Amy Butler's lotus line and I love how it turned out. If you are looking for a twin duvet cover for now or down the road, West Elm has some beautiful light gray and ivory patterned bedding right now.

Thanks for the links! That Serena and Lily quilt is exactly what I am looking for. I also like the dwell coverlet, although I need twins bedspreads. The Serena and Lily quilt may be a bit pricey for my two year old twins (who are not potty trained ...) I will check out the Company Store too. Garnet Hill had some good ones as well.

I am looking for a gray coverlet exactly like the one featured in photo 1. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, love the duvet cover in that photo. Where is that from?

Another idea is the super cheap metal flower pots from Ikea. They come in three sizes. We use them for art supplies in the craft room/ play room.

Restoration Hardware's Sycamore Green mixed by Benjamin Moore (they have the formula, but bring in the color swatch) is a beautiful gray green that looks nice with white trim and changes color in different light. Also, Benjamin Moore's Silver Fox, which is recommended often on AT.

Great room! Would you mind sharing the paint color? I am picking a gray for my daughter's room and having a very hard time.
