Hi,

I live in Germany, and sophie has been banned since 2011. There is a magazine here called Ökotest, and they found that there are too many nitrosamines leaking from the rubber, or something like that. Anyways it is not allowed to sell or buy the giraffe here at the moment, until the numbers are reduced. Germany has stricter guidelines. This is related to what was written about the French magazine, they did the test after Ökotest.
There is supposed to be a new production coming out this spring that will have a reduced number of the nitrosamines, so they are improving their production, at least for Germany.

Stories are all either in German of French. http://www.cleankids.de/2012/02/27/okotest-nachwirkungen-zu-sophie-la-girafe/20557

That´s way too much for that blanket, but then again I live in Germany so ummm they are way cheaper here.

A new use for the swiss blankets I´ve seen here is by a company called canvasco, they make messenger bags out of the blankets, I have one and that didn´t cost me 300 dollars or 300 euros.

Hi, from Germany, where we get charged 5-20 cents for each bag at the grocery store.
The cheapest and most effective bag I have found is the big blue bag from ikea. It´s strong, cheap, and fits a lot of stuff. This bag is great when you are driving with a car. I have like 5 of these bags and use them for everything.

However, many people here use these bags.

They are more on the expensive side, but pretty and strong. Totally colapsible and the handles are padded for when you need to carry heavy stuff.

The nice thing about these bags is, that they are pretty much the same size as one of those baskets you get at the store, so you don´t tend to overload on shopping if you are walking back home.
