I collect too much! Bottlecaps and rock eggs were the starting point when I was a kid. Nowadays, I love perpetual flip calendars, vintage pyrex, the list could go on and on.

@missizzy - you're welcome! Also, I detailed the renovation on my own blog at www.squirrelpearl.com if you are interested in seeing more photos or learning more of the process. You can do it yourself too! ;-)

i think it's unanimous, keep the sink! My husband and I just purchased an old cast iron sink (but with a metal base) from a salvage yard to use in our kitchen renovation. http://bit.ly/cnbFAD

There are people like me out there who will buy old to put in their new kitchen!

Thank you everyone for such kind comments!!!

Since a few of you asked, the paint color is Sliced Cucumber by Behr, we love how clean it feels.

Regarding the countertops and metal edging, we were only able to reuse some of the original countertops and edging and had to purchase some new stainless steel snap-on edging from NY Metals- http://bit.ly/cI5MfO - thanks to Pam at Retro Renovation for pointing us that direction. As BadJuJu mentioned, that site is amazing.

We were able to take apart the original countertops, which were metal bases with a piece of linoleum on top, held in place by the metal edging. We used a flat head screwdriver and hit it with a mallet to get the eding to come off. We then purchased a roll of formica from Lowe's (just the decorative part, not the whole pre-made countertops) traced the original linoleum shape onto the roll of new formica, and then cut it out using a jigsaw. We then replaced the old linoleum with the new formica and put the old metal edging back on again. It wasn't really that hard or even messy!

The kitchen rug is by Brita Sweden, I purchased it online through Scandinavian Design Center- http://bit.ly/amavxD

Hope that helps everyone! I'm happy to answer more questions if you have them and I'm so happy everyone likes what we did! ;-)

Funny, I didn't know this was common but it makes sense with pine being cheaper. We have oak flooring on the main level of our house, but when we removed the carpeting from our second floor we were surprised to find a wider plank and a much softer wood that indeed turned out to be pine. We haven't had any trouble with furniture leaving indentations, but I have noticed scratches from our pets claws.

I have to say that I have really enjoyed the format of Lonny. I love print magazines like everyone else, and don't feel that this works as a replacement, but in addition to. One feature that is nifty to me is that almost everything in the home tours has a link connected to it, if you roll your mouse over it. This is great for someone like me, who might see something in a traditional print magazine and forget to write it down - I can click right through to purchase the item.

I have a few of the Dansk peices, and I have to say the yellow covered dish is one of my favorite pieces to add in a photo of the kitchen!

For anyone interested, the area code for the Nashville area is 615- it was missing from the post regarding how to donate.

Great place guys! So happy to see Nashville represented on AT!! By the looks of it, I think this is a loft at Werthan Mills? And that black and white rug is the Alvine triangle rug from IKEA- I wish I had it!

Can You Identify These Vintage Cast Iron Ramekins? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn

We just had our 1950s metal cabinets stripped and powder coated, and had planned on taking the cast iron double basin sink to get it re-enameled...but were told by the powder coaters they had recently started powder coating the cast iron sinks as well...so far, it all looks great. You just have to be sure that anything that would melt has been removed, as they do bake the items after coating.

jlyn2723- Yes, the sconces are from ikea! For the longest I thought we had installed them wrongside up, but at a recent ikea trip, I saw that's how they were in the store as well!

AngelaDee76- The wooden whale is vintage, sorry I can't help you more on that one! Perhaps etsy or ebay might find you one similar?

ekmac116- Our dining room chairs are actually mix and match, two each from two different sets! I just recovered the seats to make them all match! I checked for maker info, but none on either set!
