Just signed up! I have a few unfinished tasks - finish my bathroom remodel, hang a big mirror in my bedroom, and overall declutter. I'm taking pictures tomorrow of my current place and will post on Flickr.

bepsf - probably 90% of the stuff you find in stores is made in China or India!

I think the quality of the Malm dresser is quite good. I purchased some funiture from Crate and Barrel and could not afford the matching dresser. I Malm matched the C&B pieces almost exactly and was less than half the price.

Wow - I've never seen so many negative people people follow a blog! Big deal if things are reposted - there are multiple writers and it's not the same post! Get over yourselves!

I have a succulent in a pot on my desk. It gets lots of sunlight. I run water into the pot until its full, then pour all the water out. I let the soil dry out completely, usually 1-2 weeks. Its growing really good for me.

I live in Tampa and our new Ikea opens May 6th. News articles say it has an expanded foods section, first in the country. Not sure what that entails.

I usually detest theme rooms, especially bathrooms, but this one is too unique not to love. Awesome job!

I think most of West Elm's sofas are not made in the USA. Most are small or modular, and look like they were designed to maximize the space inside an ocean shipping container, (which is how all furniture is imported).

I went to college in nearby Statesboro and spent every weekend in Savannah. Talk to the local SCAD students for ideas on places to visit. I miss Savannah!

I almost purchased a condo that had a washer/dryer combo, like the one in the picture. I am not sure of the brand, though.

My friend that did purchase the unit has lived there for less than a year and has had to replace his washer/dryer combo twice. He detests it. Either his clothes don't dry, or come out so hot he can't touch them.

I've been tempted to buy furniture from Z Gallerie, but seeing how badly scratched the floor models are, I decided against it.

I went into a local Ethan Allen this past weekend - not really shopping but just browsing their couches and sectionals. The store was small and full of very traditional funiture - it reminded me of stuff my mother would love. I was on my way out when I was stopped by a store designer - all of their couches are custom. Sounded pricey, and I was right. A small sectional was between $3000-$4000 based on the fabric and fill content of the cushions. That might be reasonable to some - I guess I am jaded by all the low price Asian imported funiture on the market.
