Very disgusting and worn out idea. The BBQ vending circuit attempted to sell it as a "BBQ Sundae" - ick.

The section stating sucrose at common soda levels, yet fructose at half concentration does need more explanation before I will believe their findings. Why did they do this? I don't care for your suppositions. I would like to know the actual reason from the researchers.

As for the comment "...the reasons for the US adopting HFCS are stupid (no trade with South America)..." - where pray tell did you come up with that one? US manufacturers adopted HFCS due to price, nothing else.

And finally, "(If you don't believe me, check the wikipedia entry on fructose)." - thanks for the laugh....

We're very happy with our mid-range Bosch. Super quiet, 161 degree water, and no issues after 8 years.

I'm keen on getting to know people and their businesses as much as possible, therefore, I'd bring a small 'thank you' gift related to the class at hand, or at a minimum write a thank you card and/or post positive comments.

That is assuming the class is good.

Not to be flip, but the fact you are even asking the question answers it for me.

Hire a reputable caterer - enjoy your party and be a hostess - leave the food (fun, though it is) to someone else to wonder and relax as you should.

Good ol' Victory in our hometown of Downingtown, PA.

Stop in some time and try their other Belgians - Abbey 6 and Abbey 8 for a single/double taste to compare to GMonkey.

Leave with a couple of bottles of V12. Just don't finish them both off on the same day!

We've been drinking raw milk (unpasterized and unhomogenized) for the better part of the summer. Reminds me of my youth in Texas. There are a number of southeast Pennsylvania state-licensed dairies that sell raw milk.

Natural hog, sheep, or bovine casing for everything but breakfast sage is what we prefer and use around here. When we do large batches of hot Italian, we will make a few portions uncased for use in lasagna and spaghetti.

A few deviations from the article recipe:

(1) Prior to placing in the oven, remove the membrane from the back side of the ribs. Also, consider trimming the ribs down to St. Louis (if spares) as the brisket bone and extra sections are full of cartilage.

(2) Put apple juice, turbinado sugar, and honey or maple syrup into the foil pouch step. Put the ribs meat side down into the mix.

(3) Remove the ribs from the foil for the last 30-45 minutes of cooking to allow the outside to dry/firm up a bit.

(4) Look for an internal temperature of ~185 F in the thickest rib before removing from the oven.

(5) Let rest for at least 15 minutes.

(6) Enjoy, rinse, repeat!
