Once you start using them they will become addictive. Shoosh them in your food processor and then add them to mayo on a burger, add it into your coleslaw dressing, put it in sour cream on your baked potato, it makes awesome enchilada sauce, put it in soups, stews, meatloaf ... oh yeah. I can't believe there aren't any poor folks responding. I had school lunch in grade school ... and I loved them. Then I had government mystery meat or government cheese sandwiches with Miracle Whip. And we didn't have lunch bags or lunch boxes. We had to re-use clear bread sacks. I have very nice lunch bags now and love taking the stuff I never got when I was growing up. Renter here -- I usually do the oven self-clean once a year before Thanksgiving (and, of course, on move-out), and it always scares the crap out of me. Our new apartment seems to be built out of tissue paper and spit (but FABulous location) so I'd be afraid to use the self clean here, come Thanksgiving I'll give the baking powder a try. Big yay -- I get my groceries delivered -- it's easier for me to stay on budget and make fewer impulse buys by doing it online. But I still do weekly fresh meat and produce runs. And don't forget the suburban farmers markets, Hillsboro (includes crafts), Milwaukie, Hillsdale, Sellwood. Hillsboro is my fave -- they don't have as much upscale stuff but you can buy a week's worth of veggies for a fraction of the price of the Portland's market.
