I don't think physical media will ever really go away, but not necessarily because of the video quality. As much as I do use streaming video, putting DVD or Blu Ray in the player without needing to be connected to the internet, let alone making sure I have a good enough connection, is nice. Especially living somewhere the cable/internet just isn't coming in correctly, it's nice to have the physical media. What We're Sacrificing for Streaming Video Access |

I was going to point out what Omar said - AOL had that feature YEARS ago, and there was no time limit (just as long as the recipient was also @AOL and the email was unread). Seems like it should be a more standard feature now. Why is the Most Important Messaging Feature So Rare? |

If I'm looking for something new to try, a search online is where I head to. If it's good, it gets copied into a personal cookbook. Otherwise, I use traditional cookbooks and look forward to the day my mom hands me her (well used and stained!) Fannie Farmer cookbook. Apps vs. Books: Is It the End of the Cookbook Era? |

I've had terrible luck with Energizer batteries though - they have a tendency to explode after not all that long. I prefer Duracell for that reason (rechargeable or non). One Battery Comes Out On Top After Comparison Test |

I live at home, so I use my cell phone as my main phone number. But when I move out I plan on getting a land lineand getting a really cheap cell phone plan so I can make calls in emergencies. Moving Survey: Do You Have a Land Line? |

I never stopped using a mousepad... even though my mouse hasn't needed them for a long time. I like the picture and the soft fabric texture of the pad; it adds a personal touch to a desk and computer setup with little effort. Does Anyone Even Use a Mouse Pad Anymore? | Apartment Therapy Unplggd |

That's also what I've always heard. I thought it was something like you can do more dishes with much less water (in the newer dishwashers). And if you live in the country, you'd be using electricity to power your pump for the water anyway. Apartment Therapy Unplugged | Eco-Friendly Steam Dishwasher Saves Water and Power |

Coming from somewhere with excellent tasting well water, I could never get used to the taste of bottled water (it all just tastes like the plastic bottle it comes in). As for home-filtered water, it just seems like a hassle to use something like this (like Comicgeek said). I know that some people do have things wrong with their tap water (things do get into well water sometimes) that make it undrinkable but otherwise, is it really worth the hassle? The joke at home is "amoebas taste good." :-) Apartment Therapy Unplugged | Aqualris Water Filter: Elegant and Beautiful |
