Love the tips here. I have been using some of these without knowing they were designer tips! Yayy :)

My boyfriend just installed an antique chandelier in my modern living room and it works beautifully!

I can't even pick what I like the most - the sink sculpture, that gorgeous couch, the rhino with the drill, the dolls over the bed, my God..this is such cute home!

Nothing wrong with plastic bags for storing dry goods in large quantities (rice, lentils, quinoa and all that). I use the ikea bag sealing clips that work like a charm. When storage space is scarce and at a height, you can't (as much as you'd like to) use glass jars - they're not stackable and you don't want them falling over your head!

(I recently dropped a bag of bulgur to the floor... and was grateful it was a bag not a glass jar!)

Having said that I love to reuse old pesto/spag-sauce jars and even the cute cosmetics jars to store spices.

Chin up Chicken Parmesan, if it makes you feel any better, I just moved into a barely 500 sq foot Hong Kong apartment and in an effort to shove everything out of sight, I've just hidden everything in shelves.. piles in shelves 8 feet high. I have to purge and rearrange everything and I already did that BEFORE the move! At least you have help, I have to tackle this monster alone :)

In Hong Kong, most units don't have built-in closets like U.S. apartments do. Many apartments have a 3-4 foot wide window sill running the length/width of the bedroom (3 feet off the ground) and it's a gross wastage of space. It would make a fine "reading nook" or something else cute and quirky but since storage space is so scarce, I end up lining up boxes and wine crates to store books and handbags. Such a shame because the space is large enough for a three door wardrobe!

My other pet peeve is that one corner of the bedroom is always strewn with miscellaneous chargers; hiding them behind the nightstand would be neater but I promised myself I wouldn't keep my phone so close by while sleeping.

Ay Ay I scrolled down with so much anticipation but that's not really "emerald" is it?
Having said that, the photos of the green themed room are so lush and beautiful!

precariously balanced plates, books and bottles of wine together on kitchen shelves, a disproportionately wide dress hanging on the door, sewing machine on a dresser - this apartment is SO contrived.

I have found most wine stores are willing to give you their crates at the end of the day or week as the people that can afford wine that still comes in crates don't want the crates ;-)

I also found this question confusing. Also what does "senior on a fixed income" mean?

I am moving in to an apartment tomorrow and the kitchen has grotesque MIRROR backsplash. Aside from being ludicrous (who wants to see their own face while cooking?), it's going to be a nightmare to clean too. Can someone please tell me what to do?

Awww I love this house and almost everything in it EXCEPT the still-not-consumed cases of warm champage (what a waste, good champage should be had, not showcased) and the presumably empty hermes orange boxes that reek of pretentiousness. It reminds me of brand-obsessed girls in Singapore and HK who carry their lunch boxes in tiffany paper bags and specifically request for *extra* bags and boxes and high-end stores. Eww.

Everything else is just beautiful, thoughtfully curated and feels so personal and well-loved. I especially adore and deeply envy the LV trunk...
