To celebrate my husband's graduation from grad school, I made this lovely Champagne Punch. It was quite a hit!

Yes ma'am, that's what we do as well. I also rub in a little extra oil sometimes after it dries before putting it away just to help maintain the seasoning (this is probably less necessary if you have an heirloom cast iron skillet that is well-seasoned from years of cooking).

This weekend we are grilling with friends tomorrow and doing steaks and these Chimichurri Grilled Potatoes

We do homebrew, but we're wanting to try cider and ginger beer sometime soon!

Definitely! I hated brussels sprouts, and now they're one of my favorite foods. I also didn't care for grits growing up. My family likes them sweet with butter and sugar, but once I finally tried them with savory things like cheese, jalapeno, etc, I was hooked.

Like others have said, I have found that some of my dislikes were definitely dependent on preparation (brussels sprouts). Others, I think it's maturing tastebuds and a willingness to overcome a mental block against certain foods.

Two of my favorites are:

Chicken Spaghetti (Made with "cream of" soups, but I admit that I love those soups every now and then. If they're not your thing, you could always make your own from scratch):

We didn't cook too much this weekend, but I did make a delicious Lemon Rhubarb Buckle (basically a Lemon Rhubarb Cake with a crumble topping).

Here are a couple of my favorite recipes using cilantro. If all else fails, I'm totally in the same camp as those folks telling you to stir it in with some scrambled eggs and cheese and make breakfast tacos!

@verily, actually lots of people in the South eat sweet grits. I'm the lone member of my family that prefers the savory variety. Everyone else prefers them with milk and sugar.

haha I'm with the other two commenters. This is a great idea. So great that people have been doing it for generations in the south under the guise of "grits."

(I mean this post all in good fun -- I'm all for getting more people on the grits bandwagon!)

I opted for comfort food this weekend, making a big pan of Chicken Spaghetti. It's kind of an East Texas classic, and it tastes like home. Though it uses the much maligned cans of cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup, I absolutely love it.

It has finally been warm enough to get out the grill, so we did a grilled pizza and then we also did steak with grilled portobello mushrooms with goat cheese and pesto and grilled asparagus with caper vinaigrette:

You know, one of the few cookbooks I own that has a dedicated Lunch section is Mad Hungry. It may be billed as a cookbook to please the men in your life, but it's just plain ol' delicious food that everyone can enjoy. I think a decent amount of her recipes could travel well.

Taking inspiration from The Kitchn's Winter Greens Pesto using kale, I made a batch of Swiss Chard & Brussels Sprout Pesto that turned out really well!

We're still working on leftovers from a big batch of Irish Cheddar Ale Soup I made this week with my husband's homebrew

http://atexasbelle.blogspot.com/2013/04/irish-cheddar-ale-soup.html

I also want to try experimenting with a swiss chard brussels sprouts pesto since I have some of both laying in the fridge.

Though not suitable for all occasions, two of my "go to" appetizers that always get a big reaction are:
