I like to make Pioneer Woman's bacon wrapped stuffed jalapenos. The stuffing is cream cheese and grated cheddar mixed together. Stand mixer works like a charm. You would kill your arm muscles trying to do that by hand. I also use mine for most of the time that I'm mixing stuff for baking. Frosting. What Are Great Recipes for Stand Mixers? Recipe Questions |

Whenever my mom emails me a recipe, I write it on a recipe card and tuck it into my recipe notebook. That way, I don't always have to search through the millions of emails I have from my mom to find that recipe. Recipe Cards: Useful or Outdated? |

I have a tiny whisk that my mother gave me because she has one that she says she uses all the time. It's been one of my favorite kitchen gifts ever. I LOVE it and really, I use it all the time. You wouldn't think something so tiny and impractical looking would be so useful! And as an added bonus -- it's adorable! Unexpected Favorite Tool: A Small Whisk |

I have noticed that some pictures from The Kitchn not showing up in my Google Reader feed as well. I think it's quite a shame, and hopefully it's just a little quirk with the new design that will be fixed. Totally Tasty Tortilla Soup |

It looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We hosted this year for a group of 8, and it went really well. My husband and I smoked a turkey and made cornbread dressing, gravy, rosemary roasted cashews, and mulled cider. Friends brought mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, and apple and pumpkin pie. I set two tables of four with our white china and family crystal -- one with a brown table cloth, orange napkins, and green pears in a glass bowl and the other with a cream table cloth, brown napkins, and clementines in a glass bowl. We enjoyed football, food, and each others' company. The Thanksgiving Report 2011: How Did It Go? |

I'm using seasonal produce this year. It seemed like the easiest (and most edible) choice for centerpiece. On one table, I have a trifle bowl that I'm going to fill with green pears. In a low glass bowl on the other table, I'm going to use clementines. (I wanted to use baby pumpkins but can't find them anywhere). In the entryway, I have a long narrow bread basket filled with green apples. Sustainable Tablescapes: Seasonal Produce Centerpieces |

Oh, I'm a traditionalist. I love seeing all of the Thanksgiving recipes posted on blogs and on the glossy pages of magazines, but I never make them for Thanksgiving. That day is reserved for family recipes that I love and cherish and only get to eat once a year. I may try a creative dressing recipe some weekend for a family dinner, but on Thanksgiving, the only thing I want on our table is our simple family cornbread dressing recipe. I'm with the folks calling for roasted radishes. They're delicious! Seriously. I also like them sliced very thinly in salads and on a sandwich. Sometimes they can be used as a garnish or side for some mexican recipes. Help! What Can I Do With a Surplus of Radishes? Good Questions |
