@teakfreak yes, both EPS and XPS foam sheets can offgas some pretty nasty things; I personally wouldn't recommend putting them inside your home. Use Pink Panel Insulation for Wall Hangings The New England Southerner |

There are definitely harsh white LED lights that are very unpleasant to look at, but there are also ones available that have a beautiful warm glow, such as the ones from Philips. Would You Pay $25 for an LED Lightbulb? |

patmac is correct.. it's not safe to be using WD-40 anywhere it will come into contact with food or dishes, as it's toxic, or anywhere you spend a lot of time, because it's not something you want to be breathing in. Clean & Protect Stainless Steel with WD40 This Old House |

Commercial wood paneling, unless it is just natural wood, often offgasses almost as much as normal drywall, SIPs are replacements for entire wall systems, not drywall, and can offgas even more than drywall unfortunately. A Safe, Non-Toxic Alternative to Drywall? Good Question |

Or you could insulate your homes, realizing that insulation protects against excessive heat as well as cold.. Adequate insulation (R30+) will keep your homes warmer in the winter, and cooler in the summer.. add in an attic ventilation fan with a timer and it will cool your home off at night, and keep it cool during the day. Much cheaper than leaving your AC on while away. Why You Might Want to Leave the A/C On During Vacation |

I'm a strict lacto/ovo vegetarian, and have recently started a "slow carb" (not quite the same as low carb) diet. I eat much better now than I did before, and I'm quite pleased with my rate of fat loss. I'm by no means eating fancy food, but it tastes good, I feel great, and it's easy. I think it would probably be a bit easier with the extra options meat provides, but it's not really an issue since I've been getting my protein from non-meat sources for over 6 years now anyways. I still eat carbs, but they're in the form of veggies, not starches. Is Vegetarianism Incompatible With a Low-Carb Diet? Good Questions |

Before I moved to the west coast, I used to do that each winter.. it worked great. I'd fill three 1-gallon (4L) plastic jugs with water and put them outside to freeze, and then bring them in one at a time to cool the fridge.. at any given time there was 1 in the fridge and 2 more outside re-freezing or waiting to be used. During the coldest parts of winter, the fridge sometimes didn't cycle on at all. Cool Your Fridge with Ice from Outdoors? | Apartment Therapy Re-Nest |

While the concept is interesting, it's basically just an expensive ($11 for the smallest size!) bag of soil. Much easier to use burlap or some other natural fabric to do the same thing. Re-using a natural cloth bag would be cheaper and more eco friendly. Hot or Not: Garden Soxx Planters | Apartment Therapy Re-Nest |

I'm allergic to SLS (causes terrible dermatitis on my hands) and I just switched to the JASON brand of shampoo... I've been using it about a week so far, with no ill effects at all.
