As someone LOOKING for a house--don't paint woodwork. The new home owner can make that decision and taking paint OFF woodwork is so much more of a hassle. Your floor has a warm grey-brown thing going on which is nice, so why not paint the walls to coordinate with the floor? It'll make your whole kitchen look more of one piece and less of a mish-mash that might shy the buyers away thinking it need 'so much work'. Same with your countertops. If you're not going to change the floor, and it's very distinct, the cheapest and easiest way to make the whole kitchen look fresh and new is to base your decisions off of that. And again, don't paint woodwork. How To Freshen Up This Kitchen in Preparation For Selling? Good Questions |

Marine Caulk. 3M makes a good brand in clear and opaque white. Remove the current caulk, read about how to apply it correctly (clean surfaces; push, don't pull; smooth with your finger). Very water-tight and mildew resistant. Ask your landlord to apply it if you're unsure whether you should by yourself or not. How To Fight Gross Mold and Mildew? Good Questions |

Don't paint. Update the fabrics/carpet and hang some big canvas panels to reflect some more light. Think about the beautiful wood house that you'd love to buy someday and you see the painted detail and go "why would someone do this???" The house was designed to be full of beautiful pine, you can work with it, not against it. Help My Mom Decide: The Great Wood Paneling Debate |

Okay the seafoam is available, it's almost identical to the white lamp but it is labeled as a "Task Lamp" and the white is a "Desk Lamp" http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/gifts/Metal-Task-Lamp-Seafoam-Green/882709053644-item.html Small Space Solutions: Best Lamps for Compact Desks |

I try to acquire furnishings that have already been around for 30 years, it lets me know that they're built well and are solid pieces. Anything with fabric is a toss up between reupholstering and replacing, depending on the use. Apartment Therapy New York | Survey: What's Your Furniture Life-Expectancy? |
