This is amazing!! I love it so much. The zinc, the chandelier, the walls...everything!!

Sadly, it seems that everytime someone on AP comes up with an awesome grey for the walls and people ask what the color is, it never gets answered. Still waiting to get rid of my horrid grap bathroom walls!!

@zlie177, Really I think it's a great piece no matter WHAT the finish! I could see it original, darker or painted white. To me the craftmanship is also in the build and shape. I can't wait to see it. You will post pics won't you??

I'm starting a fashion truck and am looking for two pieces like that to place jewelry and art on. I'm sure some people won't like that either (riding around in the back of a truck) but it will be perfect for the boutique 70's flare look I'm going for!

Not quite the same but this article reminds me of the documentary Craigslist Joe. I really like the concept of asking people for things and sharing what you have!

by the way, I'm obsessed with the 18% grey (I think) backdrop wall, chandelier and the paper artwork!!!! So calm and pretty. Might they be willing to do a tutorial for us on that art??

@ispellkonfusion that's what my tv is on as well!! I do think however, in their situation that it's not only where the tv is but the fact that the coffee table definitely blocks it so they have to wheel that out of the way. I'm under the assumption they don't watch much! Also, I found myself wondering if a lower-to-the-ground than an average walking person lived there. Not only the tv, but the mirror in the bathroom and the bed are on the floor as well :) I'm short but I think I'm taller than that mirror!

I have two cats and have no problems. They could care less about toilet paper! They are more obsessed with drips from the sink!! I can't stand underhand! I hate having to turn the roll to find the starting point. If I see them like that, I switch them (evil grin)!!

Okay so I couldn't wait any longer for the grey. My curiosity was killing me, so I did some searching on the Behr paint site. Here are some greys that might be close (or possibly it)...

Arabien Veil
Echo
Poppy Seed

Distant Thunder
Dark Ash
Evening Hush
Dark Granite

Good luck all!

Awesome place. I love the quirky funny things you have around.

Oh and I KNOW about the fish thing. I've had a couple of betas. They LOVE fresh oxygen and will often come to the surface for real air (can breath out of water). I think they get curious and he probably fell out. I saved my roommates fish once, looked over and saw him toppling out and quickly scooped him up before my dog got too close! My beta (Tofu) would always get out of the water (no seriously) and lay ON TOP of his castle. He was at work with me and people would come over to talk to me and be like 'ummmm your fish' thinking he was dead and I would say, he's fine, just sleeping. I would tap the side to wake him up and he would jump back into the water. Betas are curious little cusses! I think he just went too far and if you weren't there to save him, he pretty much screwed himself!! LOVE BETAS!! I need to get another. I miss you Tof!

coffeete, there isn't much to take photos of now but once things start falling into place you will have TONS of opportunities (getting the baby/child's room ready, driving/flying to meet them, stops along the way, outside the agency, first day home, etc) I'm adopted and I wanted to hear how my family drove from MN to TX ALL the time when I was little. My mom would tell me how they stopped before getting to the agency to get me a baby blanket (which I bought a replica of on ebay to still put on my pillow) and how my siblings took turns holding me on the ride home (68 no seatbelts). There was a pic outside of the agency that first day that I love to look at. Not a lot of pic taking back then which is sad. It's a lot different now! U will have tons of fun!

very ingenious place. I love all the use of space!

About the doggie door...I saw a picture once of a doggie door that entered into a kitchen cupboard and then there was a door into the kitchen from there. It would be a two door system which might keep the cold out a little better. Just a thought. Your the architect, I will give you the idea & if you like it, I SURE you could make it work!

What the??? The last thing I expected to see was someone talking about Litchfield!!!! I grew up there until I was 12. They have fun little shops. When I was younger there was a men's clothing store that used a can and a rope type of mechanism to send your payment up to the cashier on the 2nd floor, then they would shoot your change and receipt back down. Awww memories!

Aw snaps, the most perfect grey on earth!! If u find it, I can finally fix my bad purple bath!

Amazing place, I love everything. You both are also amazing photographers! Also very in love with your collections of props.

Please to the grammer folk, stop it. Do you have nothing better to do then to pick? It's irritating to have my visual pleasures interupted by pests!

Cute Derek...I love the final pic! Your kitty is definitely the diva of the house. My female cat does the same thing...following guests from room to room.

I love the little pitcher collection in the white wall boxes! Also, I think it's so funny how we had to spell things out in the 70's as if people didn't know (ICE, SALT, PEPPER, etc) Maybe it was all that late night dancing ;o)

If I'm working on a painting project and have to quit for a day or two, I put my rollers and brushes in the freezer wrapped in plastic wrap. When I'm ready to paint again, I take them out, let them thaw, and continue my project.

Awesome space. I love the frames and your pupper is beautiful! I hope you can have someone watch him while your gone.

I wasn't going to comment on all the negativity but I just have to say MarshalO, if you're going to correct someone, get it right, DUH!!!! She spelled it right and YOU did not!
