These are indeed enviable. My freezer currently has multiple-personality disorder. All the forzen breast-milk is HYPER organized and everything else is just chucked in willie-nillie.

Love the pizza kit idea!

So cute! That was a beautiful room to start with, with all that gorgeous trim work. Very sweet and girly and vintage.

I love passiveaggressivenotes.com. That microwave one is a classic from there (and so retarded -- really? this is what you have to be upset about in life? a blinking microwave clock?).

I have to (sheepishly) admit that I've been the very deserving recipient of a note like this once or twice. In my freshman naivete, it really never occurred to me that you shouldn't help yourself to whatever is in the fridge. Horrible, I know!! Privileged, suburban white girl over here, I totally admit it! In my defense, it never occurred to me that I shouldn't let other folks eat the food I paid for and I never had a problem with it. I used to call from the grocery store and ask if I needed to get anything for the dorm, never even thinking that I should probably get folks to chip in. So if allowed to continue in my misguided ways, I think it still would have evened out...maybe. Lol.

Meh. Much ado about nothing. I grew up in a "everybody around the table" family, where we had great conversations and lively quality time every night. Nowadays, my husband and I always end up snuggled up together on the sectional, watching our giant TV and eating something delicious and home-made from big deep dishes. We sometimes talk back and forth about what we're watching and sometimes just enjoy a bit of quieter time together. For a special meal, we eat at the table or go out on a date and really focus on each other. When baby gets here in April, we'll start eating at the table again. I think it's healthier and less distracting for kids.

Everybody do your own thing. It's all good. I loved the photos.

We've been lucky and have never been burned, but I work in banking so I'm super suspicious. If a price seems too low, I leave it alone. If a seller has never had a review or the reviews seem vague or not legit, I leave it alone. I give reliable sellers repeat business and will even sometimes contact them to see if they can obtain a particular item for me (like a vintage something), do a custom item for me, or if they know another trustworthy seller I could get it from. And when I'm selling on Craigslist, it always ends in a face to face, cash only deal.

Oy, that first post got a little crazy! I was surprised by the response there as well! This is an issue in our marriage and I have no doubt that everyone struggles with it to some degree. The truth is, we're both pretty bad at keeping up with housework, it just bothers me more. And my husband would rather spend all morning Saturday cleaning and ignore it during the work week, while I would rather do bits and pieces every day and have my weekend off. I find that I often don't give him much credit for what he DOES do around the house and I think if I were more vocal and appreciative of his contribution, he'd be more eager to get it done. (This realization makes me feel like crap...)

Yes to the Hobby Lobby coupons! It's gotten to where I won't buy anything there if I don't have a coupon or it isn't on sale, since it will most certainly be cheaper next time I come in. I also take stuff there for framing all the time during their custom framing events.

I always Google around for a coupon code before ordering stuff online from places like Target, West Elm, etc. Even if it's only free shipping or 5% off, it helps.

Strangely, I suck a grocery coupons. I just can't be bothered.

I think it's fun to have a big-kid/teenager room on here for a change. We see so many (fabulous!) nurseries. As to the giant picture, my husband would totally do that. And anyway, it sounds like Mom and the sisters did most of the designing, so he may not have chosen it for himself.

@lepidoptery, you almost made me pee on myself. Hysterical!

The art dept at my college had this issue in their studio. They put up very cool looking decals in the shape of a flying bird and it worked. I don't think the birds are actually supposed to think it's a predator, I think it's just something to disrupt the reflection and define that as a separate plane...not sure. Anyway, way more design-friendly than hanging pie pans.

I'm completely intrigued. I can totally see this being one of those things that your inner eight-year-old wants to flee in terror from, but then ends up being super, life-changingly awesome. Like the first time you try sushi and you're convinced that you're going to throw up, but then it's amazing and you go on a total sushi bender and wipe out an entire paycheck. Wait...that didn't happen to everybody in college? Oh.

Oh my goodness, we must be secretly related. We're almost done putting together the nursery for our first baby, due in April. It's this exact same color-scheme/vibe and her name will be Maggie (which narrowly beat out Molly)! So crazy how that happens!

Anyway, I obviously think that this is absolutely gorgeous! Great use of a small space! And I can't believe that awesome rug...

Lol @ designrchick, with the subway signs for cities that have no rail system. It has to at least make sense.

I agree with most of these folks. I do find myself occasionally turning away from something I really, really love just because it's everywhere online. But in reality, most of the people in my life are not as into design as I am and they haven't seen it before. So I try to encourage myself to go ahead and do it (cheaply).

I love the way it looks, but we do time out as one minute for each year of age, so it wouldn't work in our house. Dang if that little guy isn't super cute though, with his pouty face!

@Gatineauhills - For reals, that was awesome. I want to my kid to be in your practice! Can we get this person a guest column or something?

I liked jodieann's perspective, too, as a special ed pre-k teacher. That seems like a really positive way of dealing with lots of different behaviors.

I have no advice or insight, except to say that I never sucked my thumb, lost interest in my pacifier at around 7 months, and still had a horrific overbite and terrible teeth that required years and years of orthodontia. I don't think it's so black and white.

Is it safe to buy nonorganic butter and other dairy products? I know that ideally you would try to buy these organic, but when the budget is tight...

I ALWAYS buy organic milk -- it tastes so much better, lasts longer, and is just the bee's knees all around. But I was wondering whether other dairy products are as risky in their non-organic forms.

Egads! That first picture is gorgeous! I'm chuckling at this because I'm 24 weeks pregnant and stood longingly gazing at a dollhouse for at least 15 minutes the other day. I resisted the urge to buy it, but it was not easy!
