We used up a bunch of baby food (mostly vegetable) in slow cooker recipes like curries or stews. I also stirred some of the fruit ones into oatmeal.

I plan on baking and sending christmas cookies to friends. Any tips on how to pack my cookies so they don't break in the mail?

I love the french skillet. I got it to replace the large nonstick wok in my arsenal when I converted from nonstick to Allclad everything.

It's really useful for making things like pasta sauce and big saucy stir frys, that you just can't get away with in a large skillet. My version has a nice domed cover that comes with it too.

best foreman quick fix ever: folded tortilla filled with crunchy peanut butter & a sliced banana. Instant dessert quesadilla. Also works with nutella :).

So excited for the highline! I'm gonna try to check it out on Wednesday -- it's been the talk of Chelsea (my hood) for years!

When I'm making a couscous I boil the raisins in whatever spiced up stock and veggies I'm using. They get really juicy!

My vote's for the Zester/Grater -- it's the only one in my kitchen, and I use it for pretty much everything (nutmeg, zest, ginger), unless I have to grate a whole huge block of cheese. Then I bust out a box grater, but it never works as well.

We have a MONSTER sized George and love it. You can cook a ton of chicken breasts, for example, at once without having to work in batches or taking up any room on your stove. And with the timer on the big model, and no need to flip, you can work on other things without having to worry about overcooking.

we love grilling veggies! We use a large-ish wok looking thing with holes. peppers and onions tossed with some olive oil and plopped on the grill in that thing always come out tasting like candy.

Dex would love this sconce! (and so would we). The other Jonathon Adler lamp I adore is the Capri #2 in orange. I've been eyeing it...

Are all the commuters on the subway really going to hurt your kids? I think the people that are anti this are "cab people" and probably afraid of public transportation.

I was riding the train to school and all around the city myself as an 11 year old girl. And no, this wasn't the seventies, this was the 90s. If you aren't an idiot, New York is very safe purely because of all the people around all the time. If you can't let your kid learn to make safe choices, what will you do when they go to college and are not armed with any common sense experience?
