I'm faced with a scenario currently where bf and I are talking about moving in together (and I have a 13yo son). He has his cat and the cat of his ex. She has recently said she eventually wants the cat back but is not ready (financially and otherwise not stable enough). This was new news...so I have decided to put moving in together on hold until the cat is out of his care. I love him of course, but don't want to go near caring for and getting attached to a cat when she could show up any day and take cat away (not to mention son bonding with cat). I anticipate that would be very hard for me. And quite frankly, I'd be more comfortable with their split being more clean before we take the big step of living together. My setting this boundary hasn't gone over so well and is now the elephant in the room between us - we have until August for lease issues etc. My girl friends totally agree with me and my guy friends say to let it go. It's def a commentary on how us women can be so suspicious/cynical about each other while guys just roll with it. But being a single mom, I don't want her flightiness any where near my world..my bf is a great guy and just doing what's best for the cat but for me, the bigger isssue is the ex has and continues to take advantage of his generosity (borderline enabling). I agree with kschaff - It looks like a model home. Some of the light fixtures look like they belong in a hotel lobby more so than in a home - there's no warmth - and the ceilings are high and calling out for artwork or window treatments to warm things up.. Enough Is Enough The Diversion Project |

I live in a small space...while I agree that one table "anchors" the room much more effectively than many small tables...there's great function that the small tables provide when you're in "project mode"...one for feet, one for papers, one pulled close for drink/remote, etc....there's some fluid function that all the tables provide in addition to unique character - i love this space!
