Love the paint colors on the walls. I too regret not painting my kitchen and bedroom the bright yellow I wanted to. I will someday.

I used the three wheeled Jeep stroller. It wasnt a specific jogging stroller so it wasnt quite as spring-y as, say Bob, but the advantage was it was cheap ($100 ish -- noe about $150) and also very adjustable and comfortable for my children. Not so good for little babies, good for 1 year to 3 years old I would say. here is a link http://www.jeepworld.com/merchandise/jeepstrollers.htm

The other thing I liked about this stroller is that it was easy to fold up and put in the back of my car. And after using it for two kids, I handed it down to a friend who has morphed it into a golf bag holder stroller. So the point is -- quite sturdy.

If you do get this one, keep the pump or use another pump. It works a lot better as a jogger when the tires are inflated properly.

I read it, being a huge Kingsolver fan, but didn't love it. The beginning was good, the middle slowed down, and then it sort of picked up again at the end. I think it would have made a better long magazine article than a book, as there wasn't that much to keep going. On the other hand, I do know some people who loved it. It has made me think about my consumption, though, and try to consume more locally grown products. And I will do my garden again next Spring.

I have the laptop lunch system for my kindergartner. I got one extra set of the little boxes that go inside. He loves it. We make his sandwich and put in other stuff in its own little compartment. I would recommend getting two of the inside sets so you are okay if you forget to wash it right away.

I got one called laptop lunch for my kindergartner. http://www.laptoplunches.com/
Its a company founded by two women in Santa Cruz and is made in the USA and is cute and has different colors and comes with a spoon and a fork and a cute little case. It was my answer to getting a fun lunchbox yet not one with characters.
They are not only for kids, but for adults too.

And the rug has subtraction on the bottom. The number on the bottom minus the number on the side and where they meet is the answer.

I bought two of those plastic style booster seats like you would get at a restaraunt (think Dennys) on ebay. They are red, indestructible, the kids can also sit on them on the floor, and I can move them to any chair they want to sit on. They work best with chairs that have arms, so that the booster doest slip or slide, but you can also use them on armless chairs. I love mine and they are small and easy to put away when not in use. I dont have a good option for the climbing thing. My kids just stand on chairs.

Ok I hope this isn't too annoying. I really do appreciate the help and comments.

Here are photos with the bed by the windows:

It ended up with bed by the windows on top and not by the windows on the bottom.

Anyway, it was hard to move so I am going to live with it like this for a few days. My poor husband. Every time he is out of town, I re-arrange the furniture. I do like the new lamps and couch but still dont feel like it is finished. Maybe I do need bolder bedding?? I tend to go for solids.

Also if I lost the art and did the b/w photography (like of my kids) I could indulge my wish for a zebra rug??

Feel free to continue with suggestions.

thank you very much.

Ok so I just took some photos (the room isnt that clean and its night time, but if I wait till daytime the kids will be up and then I wont get anything done) on my new flick account. I hope this link works:

if it doesnt my name is kim95864 and maybe you can find them that way. I only put 5 up. You can see the new art, new chair, new lamps. Well, new to me at least.

I really like the idea about painting the end tables. Much cheaper than getting new ones. I like lime green and have some lime green accents in my kitchen, but the two pictures I have dont really go with that. The pictures were free hand me downs from relatives, though, and I do like the black and white idea from the other poster, so maybe I could paint some of the end tables lime green and then get cheap black and white art? Maybe I will try to take a picture with something lime green from the kitchen so we can see if it goes or not. The room has kind of a warm colors feel -- the orangey gold walls and red and brown accents and I am not sure the cool lime green will really go. Perhaps I should stick with the reds and browns and darker green.

Now I am going to see if I can move the bed and take pictures that way. Hubby is away so if I dont post anything else it is because it was too heavy.

I live in Sacramento and used to live in the SF Bay area. We spent a weekend in SF with the kids at Hotel Diva and stayed in the kid-friendly suite. It was in November. We took the train down, stayed in the hotel, did the museums and saw the holiday decorations in the stores. The kids loved the room and it was nice for us to have a separate area to ourselves. I think we will make it an annual pre holiday tradition.

Thanks for the comments. Keep them coming please!! I am the question-er.

I have bought a chair and ottoman (via craigslist) and put it in that empty corner. I also got a table via craigslist. I got two new lamps at the pier one on line closeout. I am going to charge up my camera batteries, open a flickr account, and take photos of the room now and also with the bed by windows. I like my chair and lamps but now think I need better nightstands. I moved a larger table to use as a nightstand.

Anyway, can't wait to get home and get the kids to bed so I can take more photos and upload.

Our office at home is off limits and kids can't enter unless we let them and we are with them. They think the computer exists soley to store photos of them. Its too hard for us otherwise, but good luck if you manage to do it. My husband works out of the house and its also necessary for his sanity.
