i have this. i love it. it's sturdy and stylish. it won't close on your head unless someone jumps on it.

it's also great because it doesn't require a headboard, unlike most storage beds out there. i don't have room for a headboard!

don't be fooled by the photos, though. there is no floor to it. and there is a support leg in the middle that may scratch your floor, but that is easily solved with a felt or a piece of cardboard.

if you must do it this way instead of having a real collection of books, two words: USED BOOKSTORE!

and i like to space out my books with decorative items in between, using my bookshelves as open display cases.

though i'll give your client the benefit of the doubt and assume that he's just moved from somewhere far away and couldn't bring all his books with him. :)
