Usually the butter is added early in the recipe so I think the pan would cool down by the time the rest was mixed and ready to pour. Tip: When Making Quick Bread, Melt the Butter in the Bread Pan |

Do ask around, you will know quite a few people who will have punch bowls or appropriate vessels! They will be happy to let you borrow them! I use them as I would use green bell peppers... if a little bit spicy isn't a problem! Otherwise the BEST poblano dish I ever had was a cornbread stuffed poblano grilled covered with different salsas! I think the stuffed pepper was steamed to cook the cornbread (which had sweet and had cheese and extra corn) and then grilled just for a little smoke. SO good! The first picture bowls are German, Waechtersbach is the company. You can buy them at Williams-Sonoma for the set or through their website for individual! I have them, but use them for serving not really for mixing or prep. They as SO pretty but metal spoons can mark them up and they are a little delicate. I do love them, they were one of the best wedding gifts we received! Five Favorite Mixing Bowl Sets | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I'm sick, so I fell behind on week two. But starting to feel better so I think this weekend I'll catch up. I think that our special project will "officially" be painting the trim that was never finished when we painted the wall. We are also working on replacing the dishwasher and stove (going to gas!) but I'm thinking that might happen right as The Cure finishes... I hope! So trim it is! | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

Today was before pictures and refrigerator day. Wow... I got lucky today and mostly I took pictures and cleaned out old jars. My husband did the bulk of the cleaning and tossing old food. He is much better at it than I am. I cannot believe how pretty the fridge looks. Now time for more pictures and making meatloaf. I am so glad I signed up to do the Cure... I needed the motivation. Breakfast this morning here also! This was the best breakfast we have had in a long while. Just a cup of tea, biscuits and jam or honey. Growing up we always popped one pod, slightly crushed, in a cup of Earl Grey (Persian blend even better) tea. My friend just made a cardamom pineapple upside down cake. So tasty. I also had a cardamom flavored cupcake at Renegade Craft Faire in SF. I am so happy cardamom is becoming popular! From the Spice Cupboard: Cardamom | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

Is it really so bad for AT to bring up a topic "AGAIN"? I never see anyone complaining about the abundance of mid-century modern chair posts, or another way to cook up some chicken pieces. These topics, comments and reader experiences change over time. I love reading through AT everyday, even if there are similar topics. I also choose not to read posts that don't find particularly important or relevant to my life. Sleep Training Hotline: What's Your Story? | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh |

The top of the refrigerator has become the safe keeping space for butter, any sweet baked goods, and really everything that the KitCat shouldn't get to. Good thing the refrigerator stands alone across from the counters. We have been trying to spray her with water when she gets on the counters, but she LIKES the water. I call mom, my sister calls me... my mom calls each of us. Grandma is consulted and recipes/techniques new and old are emailed and telephoned all around. When food is such a strong part of family interaction, as it is for our family, calling gives answers AND starts conversations. The internet can give you answers quickly, and I use it everyday for food related information. Calling gives you "home" and memories, stories and shared experiences as well as answers... most of the time! Phone Home! When Did You Last Call for Cooking Advice? | Apartment Therapy The Kitchn |

I definitely do pay attention to the source of the recipe, how it is written (clear instructions) and what ingredients are available and in season. I do check other recipes in the cross-check sort of way. I also read reviews. BUT... in books and online I also need a beautiful and appealing photo. Does anyone else? I find that a photo will make me more interested and excited to consider a recipe, and while I would never make a recipe based ONLY on the photo, a really good photo will help me make my decision.
