When you pour kitty litter into paint, all you're doing is sucking up all the water. The latex, pigment, etc is still there and is being thrown away into landfills.

Looks nice but also fake. I hate it when homes are staged in such a way that make it look "lived in"...blankets carefully strewn over a chair, scarves draped over an armchair...blek! Come on, get real. If you put all the clutter away the whole "style" would dissappear. bad design if you ask me.

I have a very old worn out secretary from when I was 12. It's painted a periwinkle purple and has finger swirls in the paint where the old white paint shows through. ugh. It was originally my girlfriends..we painted it together without any paintbrushes...just hands and paint! It's some what sentimental, I cant let go of it!

I'd also curtain it off and use it for storage of items that you don't need very often....so long as they will be ok with the himidity of a bathroom.

any other resources for this kind of thing?

Also a fan of a yellow door --- but not with that color siding. try paint the house navy blue or a grey. Also, I'd line the curtains if possible, it'd give the house a more balanced look.
