I agree. The room is everything but warm. The pieces are great but are not well set up. The room is not balanced. Too many things happening in just one side of it (colors and furniture). The art work is too high. The lonely chair begs for companion. Anyway, I would love to have a big room like that to play around.

Designing a Warm & Charming TV Area: 3 Ways to Make it Happen

I agree with ddaisy88 that painting very wide, vertical stripes in two similar (and light) colors makes the hallway look shorter. The ceiling paint could go down the walls until the doorframe. A wood rail along the wall would give the sensation that the ceiling is not too high. You could also install a shelf above the back door and add put some nice objects on it. Maybe a row of 3 paper lanterns would make the place not just brighter but also shorter. A round mirror on one side and some framed art on the other. How To Make Better Use Of Long Hallway?
Good Question

Hi Katie,
You have a nice space over there. I wish I had that amount of space in my apartment. Well, my suggestion is not so different of the others. I love yellow and gray together. You already have lots of yellow there, so I would paint the long wall gray. I would use a more modern curtain with some gray on them. Maybe some stripes or some graphic patterns.
The sofa against to the long wall, a couple of charming chairs and end tables and a pretty and tall plant. The TV could be over any piece of furniture that you may already have, with some shelves above it, in the corner. On the other side of the room you could have a small office or anything else you prefer. Please have a look:

Well, I was playing a little bit with this bathroom. I also think it's very interesting and you can find some original solutions for this almost unique room.
I would not spend a big money in something that is not mine.
So, if you want to see some of my ideas for this bath, please go to this website:

Hi Josh,
I am curious to know what do you have in the corner where the picture was taken. Maybe you can find a solution using this space. Would you like to have an open space linking kitchen and dinning area? Is it possible? If not, what would you think about moving your refrigerator to the place of the range? A nice handyman would do that for you. If you want that these changes last more than a couple of years I think a nice and careful plan now would help you save good money in the future. Good luck and congrats for your new home!
