I use a non scratch kitchen scourer and washing up liquid. You can really scrub and the leather remains unscratched, comes up perfectly clean. Rinse well with a damp cloth, then dry and use a leather conditioner.

Er. Not sure how those measurements in the post relate to metric. Eg Quarts to gallons? Still makes no sense to me. Metric baking countries measure weights in grams and liquids in millilitres, smaller amounts may be measured in tablespoons. So you need 1 cup = 236 Ml etc etc.

Def not one for leaving washing up. But stacked neatly in one corner is ok for dishes surely? Justmot in the sink. Nothing worse that not being able to access the sink. Have been known to put big dirty pots outside until they can be attended to.

I see your nursery as your workplace. Reduce the likelihood of injury to yourself and make things as ergonomic as possible, first thing anyone who bends over a person in hopsital bed, or the like, does is raise the bed to waist height to reduce the chance of injury. Has he fallen off? Yes, because I wasn't attending to him. Was he ok, yes.

What ever takes your fancy. I see it as a rare excuse to indulge in whatever you crave. I tend to need sweet milky drinks. And I was once told that a bit of -ahem bedroom activity was a cure. I tend to agree :)

I think it depends where you live. We don't have short days in winter, we have lots of sunshine, so, The idea of a cavernous black room sounds heavenly. But, not if I lived closer to the north or South Pole. Or I would want automatic curtains on a timer!

Good landlord story. When we moved in to a place in London. Boiler broke down, no hot water /heating in London in winter! Took a while for boiler to be fixed. I suggested he couldn't charge us full rent for a nonfunctiong boiler-so we lived rent free for that period. Things always fixed on request. But don't get me started on the other landlord I had in London, whose primary income was, I suspect, ripping off unsuspecting Australians. Charging 100s of pounds for small scratches on paintwork etc...

I was once scolded quite severely by a French friend for cutting across the wheel, not into the centre. It's very important to have a piece that contains some from the centre and come from the outside, as the cheese ripens from the middle out!

It's my oil of choice. I use it for all my frying and I use it in muffins and other cakes that call for oil instead of butter. But it's australian, and there are no concerns regarding arsenic levels in rice products here.

Just bought one -as a bit of joke for my partner, after watching Jamie's 15minute meals and seeing how indispensable he deemed one. What a revelation! We are both good with a knife, so never felt the need for one, but would now never be without.
