Russetstreet, I actually got mine at World Market earlier this year. I think it was, like, seventy bucks? Very good value for the quality!

Miata, it's super cozy. And faux. And my husband practically pets it when we go to sleep.

You might like it if you met it in person, actually.

StilettoPeel, I happen to have a can of the Behr Moonrise sitting next to me and it says Behr Base: 7050 W-F-700. I'll have to look for the Gray.

Latoyaversailles, I bought the pillows on sale at Homegoods. I think they were $7 each?

Wanderlust, thank you! The funny thing is, I normally despise all shades of purple, too! The chandelier is from Ikea. Cheap cheap because I was on a budget with this space.

Lady J, point taken. That part of the room wasn't finished when some I took some of these shots (it's a wall mounted flat screen and dresser on the other side), but I thought that the wall color was most accurate in the detail hook shot so that's why I wanted to include it. Actually, there were a lot of details that I wish I could have included (the striped curtains, the damask fabric on the opposite wall, a close up of the tassels I rigged). But, still, you're right; I probably should have put a picture of the dresser in there instead. I wasn't quite happy with the quality of the photograph so it got axed. Darn cheapo point and shoot.

just had to throw in my 2 cents about the television...

what is ugly about a sleek, flat screen? one that serves a purpose and is efficiently hung on a wall, no less? what makes it more beautiful in a big, awkward box or a inconvenient oversized chest or shelving? why is this piece of technology something to hide?

am i going to get rid of my refrigerator bc it's large or my plumbing because it's not antique? no, i'm going to fit these modern amenities into my scheme in a useful way that doesn't interrupt the rest of the language. which she did...

(and, by the way, i don't even really watch television...)

i've emailed a couple of times inquiring about Florida representation to no avail. i think we have a good mix of foreign design influences plus -- depending on where you are -- mid century art deco rumblings and quirky beachside towns...

That chair is fabulous in the blue! Love the color advice, "If you have to think about whether something looks good, it probably isn't right for you..."

Interesting idea. Wouldn't it make more sense to be designing for the sun on the exterior of the building, though?

On a side note, living in Florida, I cannot imagine it always staying that cool! The bay area sounds lovely!

How much fun does this space look?! I love all of the colors. I think they work so well, because the backdrop is a bright white. Wonderful room.
