It is a gorgeous lamp, isn't it? It actually needs rewiring and when I saw the inspiration photo, I realized that I could use it until then. In the meantime it won't be harmed at all.

Thanks Shelly. I love the nuts and bolts idea too. One could even use the originals if it's made that way. Just punch the holes in the leather. Love that!

Yeah, the duct tape is definitely optional. Honestly, I just grabbed the first thing that I found in the tool drawer. It's my daughter's desk so I needed a quick remedy. Thank you for the ideas! I am going to use some old contact paper to cover those nails, eventually. Interesting note - there are child's drawings inside of the drawers (scribbles, hearts, and flowers). I'm going to keep those visible. This desk is very old and I just can't bring myself to cover those.
