LauraDB,

Of course I'd rather see it 're-imagined' than in the city dump where it was headed....but more-so than either of those options I'd love to see a beautiful dresser appreciated instead of stripped of its unique qualities.

To each their own. Like I said, it was executed well...but that dresser was way too nice to destroy. For what they ended up using of the dresser, they could have used any generic run of the mill end table

that's a shame :(

The end product looked nice...but like bepsf said, it could have been created from something far less unique. What a waste of a really gorgeous dresser :(

Spanky,

stone is expensive but usually can be found for cheap or even free if you do some looking around. My mom just had a stone wall built with free material from craigslist. Some guy bought way too much stone for a project and had a bunch left over that he didn't want just sitting in his backyard. All she had to do was haul it away in my brothers truck and pay for the actual construction of the wall...

Charlotte,

I'm sorry --can you explain this correlation between cockroaches and "chocolate babies"???? that sounds pretty racist to me and Im surprised no one else has picked that up...

Anyway, another great item to include (for cities with subways)--- train tokens/cards

not sure...but the less you microwave foods, the better off you are in my opinion. Plus a hood is what removes all the smoke etc from cooking out of your home, making the air a better quality. Go with the range hood.

bisbee, Ikea shipping and handling is SUPER expensive. When I wanted an expedit for my records we went online and shipping was something absurd like $200 --about the same price as the expedit we wanted. So instead we drove from Las Vegas to california and picked it up ourselves.
