I have a 2-year-old and am currently 8 months pregnant with the second. The pregnancy has been a tough one, mobility-wise, and I've found that one of the hardest things to do to deal with those issues is to relax my standards of tidy or clean in my house. Dirty Little Secrets of Tidy Families |

Don't forget Harold Lloyd movies too... oh and Laurel and Hardy. When I got older, I loved "Auntie Mame." It was my favourite for a while. My Favorite Films for Children Maxwell's Finds |

Just borrow one from someone. You'll only use it for a few months. Just put up with it for that long and then get rid of the hideous thing by graciously returning it to its owner :) Do Non-Hideous Baby Bouncers & Swings Exist? Good Questions |

My favourite. My family gathers on Christmas eve, we watch "It's a Wonderful Life" (I fall in love a little more every year with George Bailey) and we eat dinner while listening to the late Alan Maitland read "The Shepherd" on CBC radio. I think this place delivers to Canada. I suppose you'd have to be careful about recalls and safety standards being somewhat different from Canada to the US, but it looks fairly reasonable, price-wise. http://www.wayfair.com/Baby-and-Kids-C45226.html Source for Affordable, Eco-Friendly Cribs in Canada Good Questions |

My son was born at 30 weeks and spent about a month and a half in the NICU in two different cities. I have to say, the most helpful thing people did for my husband and I was to drop off meals - casseroles, soups, curries - as we had no energy to cook, if we even remembered to eat. We put an electric blanket under the matress pad, crank it about an hour before we go to bed and then turn it off when we climb into our toasty, cozy bed. My husband is also always incredibly warm. I call him the Irish furnace. So ... just get yourself one of those. Winter Nights: Tips for Keeping Warm in Bed Reader Intelligence Report |

Ok, well, I know someone mentioned bonemeal, but bloodmeal is FANtastic! It may be a little stinky at first but that's why they hate it. My neighbour used it this year on her tulips and this is the first time in years and years that she has actually seen their blooms. The dectectable scent dies down after some time and you may have to apply more after it rains. The added bonus of bloodmeal is that it is also a great fertilizer for your plants. Come on. Snuggies start as a joke, but they are so serious! I love my snuggie. In fact I've considered writing an ode to my snuggie. It's just delightful. ooh, ooh... I like this game! I like George Peppard's apartment in "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and the poolhouse in "Philidelphia Story." And "The Apartment" is definitely NOT a couple's starter home. I have one by kapoosh (http://www.amazon.com/Kapoosh-Universal-Knife-Block-Stainless/dp/B000O38NRK) and I enjoy it. We got lots of great but mismatched knives for our wedding and it takes them all. You can take out the plastic rods and stick them in the dishwasher, which is also good. DIY Universal Knife Block | Apartment Therapy San Francisco |
