I wish I had read this two days ago when I attempted chocolate mousse for the first time ever for Easter lunch on Sunday! The mousse did turn out ok in the end (and with this tutorial it should be close to perfect next time :-)

Lovely post as usual! Weekend meditations are always something I look forward on Sundays.

This photo reminds me that I recently discovered that (fresh) radish leaves make a lovely soup, especially paired with an onion for sweetness and a potato for creaminess.

I love my purple Monbento, it is a breeze to clean and doesn't leak! (and it looks cute too). The volume is ideal for my medium appetite, with normal tupperware containers I always used to pack too much food but this is perfect for me and I rarely have any leftovers to bring back home. $36 sounds a bit expensive though (but they are cheaper in France).

Hi Nikelle,

It's not exactly the same print, but have a look at this:

Or you could always make one yourself!

Akay, I didn't follow your advice and now my heart is indeed fluttering!

That kitchen is absolute perfection, and the rest of the house has amazing bones. Some of the furniture is not really my style, but still, wow!

Love this post! I don't have children, but my partner travels a lot and on the rare occasion when he doesn't we're too often tired and grumpy to truly appreciate evenings. When we manage to sneak in a weeknight dinner together (and sometimes even a glass of wine!) it feels so nice, whether I cooked it for him or we cooked together! It is really not about the quantity but the quality of those moments, and managing to connect through our shared love of food.

@ Jessalyn: I also mainly display flowers on the dining table as it is where we spend most of our time. However, when some of them start to wilt I like to do smaller bouquets or tiny flower arrangements with the remaining flowers in pretty bottles or jars that I display throughout my home. In this way I get a lot more enjoyment out of them before they are gone.

On the cleaning products, does anyone know how to dispose of the non-green products that won't be used anymore?

How lovely!

My love of cooking and most of my early food memories come from my grandmothers (both were amazing cooks) so this made me smile and think of them.

Also, Ikea make nice and relatively cheap items for young bakers. This is what I got for my 3 years old nephew:

Wonderful! I just bought a bottle of Aperol that will be perfect for this. And since Aperol tastes similar to Campari but with half the alcohol contents, I might even drink two glasses! ;-)

I love EsmereldaAtHome's suggestion! It's a perfect organizing solution that's hidden away behind the door for a tidy look. I now wish I had such a cupboard in my home!

Brilliant post! I have added a couple on my "to buy" list.

I have the Dioder lights installed over the built-in chest of drawers (also from IKEA!) where most of my clothes are stored in my bedroom, and I am very happy with them. It is super useful to be able to find clothes in the winter mornings without having to turn on the main lights (and waking the significant other that only needs to get up an hour later!).

@ susanintoronto

On people freaking if they can't reach you immediately via e-mail, I had the same problem initially but after a while (and a bit of training) everyone mostly got used to it. I informed those I work with most frequently, and included my schedule in my e-mail signature for 100% transparency. People now know they may have to wait for 3 hours before receiving a response (and if it's that urgent, there's always the phone!).

These days I only check my e-mail at 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm and 5 pm, write down any actions from incoming e-mails in my to-do list, and work quietly and uninterrupted for long stretches of time. As I now am more productive no one can complain about my new habit, and I also feel much less stressed and happier!

I agree this may not be for everyone, but it can pay off really giving it a try!

Super useful post! My current dilemma is that I bought some Rapunzel Almond Butter that is super runny (as opposed to the normal firm texture of peanut butter), and I am clueless on how to use it. Any ideas?
