What a beautiful renovation. Beautiful vanity and window and shower—and floor!

The sanitary issue of the nickel floor is a non-starter, and simply bogus. One handles change in one's wallet or pocket, but it's too dirty to step on? Even after cleaning and sealing? Find something else to highlight your fake-fastidiousness.

I think it looks fabulous, and may do it for a teensy powder room I have. The washers are a great idea, too, esp. for a work room.

I'm pleased to find an old discussion about the Capisco chair and have been reading it with interest. I've been eying these for a couple years now, since I went freelance (design).

I think the Capisco is the coolest looking task chair ever. I love the sculptural silhouette. It's kind of yin to the human body's yang.

More important to me these days: (a) I'm aging, and my posture is more vulnerable, (b) I'm prone to sinking and zoning into my computer work, and (c) I get stiff and sore very quickly and really need to move more often. A design that encourages a straight, alert, non-lounging posture is a plus.

I had an Aeron for about 8 years. I liked the mesh, the curved-down seat front and lumbar support. It was good for extended sitting—which is now a bug, not a feature. I disliked the big, uselessly executive scale, the kludgy adjustments, the excessive use of plastic, and I don't care for the amoeba shape of the Aeron nor the Mirra. Seems dated.

The Think and Caper, OTOH, seem more compact, nimble and crisply designed. I like. I think I've been convinced to go for the Capisco, though.

Wow, I love your floor. It looks terrific, and thanks for the how-to.

I agree with those who suggest keeping it to light or dark neutrals. Your floor is ingenious and handsome and it would be unfortunate if it were reduced to a repetitive joke. "Dollars and copper-hardware and Washingtons..get it?" A subtle Lincoln bust is a great idea, going beyond that is easy and not nearly as clever as your original floor.

Speaking of your floor: is it sealed? Is it likely that the most-trafficked areas will stay a polished shiny pink? And the rest turn brown? Or will it stay pink/brown as it is? Greens and turquoises and other jewel tones could make the organic tones of your penny floor look muddy.

Is your grout light grey?

You have totally inspired me. I have a teensy water-closet with a teensy door that we just upgraded, but it doesn't have hardware. Spouse found some privacy doorknob/latch-sets in dark bronze at his job, and brought them home. They would look great with a penny floor. The vinyl in my WC needs to go away ASAP. I've been looking at teensy tiles for the teensy floor. I've secured the right hardware, so I'm thinking it must be pennies.

Thanks again for the inspiration and posting your project!
