As for the freeze thaw thing - this region in the Yukon has a VERY continental climate. It has extreme temperature fluctuations, seasonally -50 C to 35 C and daily as much as 20 to 30 C. As far as I could tell when we were at the Yukon bottle house, there were no cracked bottles.
