Just came back from walking the steep hills of San Francisco. During my walk, I was stopped dead in my tracks by the most beautiful fragrance. I looked up to see a fully-blooming, fruit-bearing orange tree. Divine. I don't like being invited to someone's home and be asked to bring food. I don't ask my friends to bring food to my home. If I invite, I cook. Yes, flax. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do. I gave away the chia seeds I bought (expensive) because the texture of things, when mixed with chia seeds, is yucky and gross to me. The hot drink with masa that you describe is "atole" not horchata. Tamalitos (not tomalitos) Oaxaqueños (not oaxacanes) Sorry to nitpick--thought maybe someone might want to know how to spell/say them correctly. I am having a Twilight Zone moment! I sat down this very minute for my usual Friday night Apartment Therapy session. (I need a life.) I had literally just finished "juicing" my very first time with my "just-arrived-today" Breville Juice Fountain Compact. And what do I find? A post about juicing with my exact new juicer! Serious coincidence. Well, after one time juicing, I can tell you that it is really easy to do--very straight forward. The juice I made with the only things I could find in my house: a small apple, some pears, and some thawed frozen strawberries--came out really delicious. Easy cleanup, reasonably small footprint, ugly, but not horrible. I am really looking forward to getting more vegetables into my diet--think this could work. I made it with the water, as suggested in the recipe. The sauce was to die for--incredibly delicious. This recipe rocks! I also used boneless thighs--and a meat thermometer. Terrible old paint on walls, tile (not beautiful) which covers major part of kitchen walls, wood cabinets which have been painted over many times, and vinyl tiles from the dollar store it would appear. Not the worst mess I ever made, but the worst mess my FRIEND made at my house: On her way to my bathroom, located at the very back end of my long Victorian flat, she managed to throw up on just about every surface in my home, rugs, floors, walls.
