The paint color is only as good as the person mixing it and the equipment used. Be sure they put a sample of the color on the lid before closing it and you walking out the door. Check the color. I once had a color mixed that was so off that when I had to buy more, it was not matching at all. I then had to go back a third time and have them remix the first batch. It the nozzles are not clean, the right amount of color will not dispense properly. Or if the person mixing it cannot read, that's a problem. This happened to me at a store selling Benjamin Moore paints !!!

I chose Spanish Olive because it has depth and sophistication not shown in the other paint colors. It plays as a neutral and will look good with almost any other color as in the pinkish-red rug and sofa. Because there is so much space with the high ceilings, the color can be more saturated than plain white. White would make the rooms look unfinished.

I have used a 1970's guacamole recipe for years and recently changed it due to my daughter's input. Instead of lemon juice, I now use lime. I add tomato, but am rethinking about using it. I made some yesterday and used ancho chili powder because I didn't have any serranos or jalapenas. I am going to try the serrano pepper the next time. I like Haas avocados, onion, garlic (tiny amount), sea salt, cilantro for sure, and lime, and will try a diced serrano. I agree that one should taste along the way.

And what about the chips? Of course there are so many small producers, but the plain chips with salt are the best. I really like ones with a coarser texture.

I like her use of color, but whoa. The pictures above the sofa and above the bed are way too high, a mistake most people make, but I am surprised a decorator would make this mistake. The rooms would look so much more professional with the right height.

You have the perfect pieces in your living room to paint the walls a pale gray, but not too pale; a warm gray, not a blue gray. Benjamin Moore's paint colors have wonderful grays from which to choose. If the floors are a reddish brown, I would restain the floors to a blackish-brown, no red and no yellow tones.

All the walls should be the same color. Try using a high gloss paint of the same color on the picture rail or go one shade darker.

Do not leave the walls as is; the color is boring, boring, boring and the room looks unfinished.

Very sophisticated color palate and wonderful use of space. Love the subtle textures of glass, wood, fabrics, etc. Very elegant, warm, and inviting. Good job. YOU should get a shot at Oprah's show !

I too love the bright yellow wall; however, your display of photos, pictures, etc. is WAY TOO HIGH on the wall. It looks ridiculous. Why not follow the wavy outline of the fainting couch and hang them much lower.

I have Smith and Hawkin tables and chairs that I bought 19 years ago that attest to the quality of their furniture and will probably be passed along to one of my daughters. Every year I power wash them and they look like new. I still love the Smith and Hawkin brass plate on each piece.
