I don't agree about toilets! It's a little gross to buy a used toilet unless you are going for period accuracy or someone has an extra new one that is hanging around. But the fundamental reason I say "no" is that newer toilets are so much more efficient and well-designed. I believe it is worth it to seek out a very current model. If you can find that on craigslist, I suppose it would be a good score. 25 of the Best Things To Buy On Craigslist Wise Bread |

One of my all time favorites. The fact that you did it yourselves (or at least designed and participated) and that you make so much of what you have makes it about hard work, not just money. That bed (with the doggy) is so gorgeous. I am bookmarking this, fo sho. Lyndsay and Fitzhugh's Summer Cottage in the City Green Tour from the Archives |

I think this is gorgeous and a home that I would love to live in - clean, calm and filled with artistic and personal elements. I appreciate the handmade quality mixed with great design, and the use of natural materials. What a wonderful place to come home to at the end of a busy day! And I love seeing pictures of the folks who live in the home. Maryam & Max's Modern Beachwood Canyon Home House Tour |

My love for IKEA is based on the simplicity and modern practicality that you can't find in many other places, mixed with the fact that they are extremely conscientious about their business practices. They monitor the production of all products, use the most minimal packaging, use end cuts that others would consider garbage and keep things affordable. They are also very serious about fair labor practices and are transparent when their are problems (as there were in a newer U.S. production plant). I don't think half of the high-end furniture firms can claim all of that. So rock on, IKEA! IKEA 2012 Preview: Stylists' Design Ideas Worth Stealing |

I have to just give praise for making the choice to be extreme. Living in a tiny space to save, to be efficient, and being part of smallcool to be a role model for those of us who are packrat artists, makes you super cool in my book. Florence's Teeny-Tiny Footprint |

I love the lamp sconce near the desk. Any ideas where that came from? Based on the source list, I looked for a Portico source but didn't find anything. Paul's Perfectly Suited Studio House Tour |

Oh no! The suggestions for collections sound like sarcasm to me. They repeat every dang overused fad we see on AT! No collections. Add more shelving above to display kitchenware that you use or leave it alone. Another option is to paint that whole wall a color other than white or, more expensively, tile the whole thing. Any variation on white will warm up the space. Uplighting above the cabinets will help, too. It is OK to have open space. Creative Ways To Fill Space Above Kitchen Cabinets? Good Questions |
