I have a router that allows me to make a "guest" network. I use that instead to keep my files and NAS sort of fire-walled. It has its own simple password which I leave for guests.

I would recomend the Vizio soundbar with wireless subwoffer found here www.vizio.com/vsb210ws.html

I have one in my apartment and the sound is more than adequate and robust. It's not a premium bar by any means, but it gets the job done very well and suits your price point. I dont think you'll be dissapointed with it at all

As the owner of a Revue I will chime in. I have a little love/hate relationship with my Revue. I cut the cord months ago and was looking a for a device to supplement my OTA TV watching, not to help me cut the cord. The Revue is GREAT at a couple of things, but very very average with a lot of others. It tries to wear to many hats at one time GoogleTV 1.0 is for geeks and nerds only.
The GUI requires a learning curve that seems to be unnecessary IMO. I am super tech savvy and I know that with the Revue I can't leave the room without my girlfriend looking confused and dazed.

The lack of sustainable quality apps are disappointing. For an Android device, the lack of a GMail/GCal app, as well as a weather app is reprehensible.

The Netflix and Pandora apps SHINE!! Just wish you could edit Pandora stations natively in the app, but that's a small quibble. The content is almost on par with Roku, but the built in Chrome browser makes up for some of the shortfalls, NOT ALL. Most of the great content is blocked (not logitech's fault).

It streams DLNA content from any DLNA server or device you have, and also allows you to view personal files via USB connection. It doesn't recognize ISO rips, but it does do MKV very well with subtitles.

Overall I think its a solid device, just not an all-star like the Roku or Boxee. At $99 its priced just right and if Logitech kills it off any further price drop would be gravy. Now all we need is for Logitech to get off their duffs and release the GoogleTV 2.0 Honeycomb update.

I will second the vote for monoprice. For $30 (incl. shipping) I got a low profile mount, HDMI cables and 2 boxes for running cables behind the wall. The mount is rock solid and has a 10 degree tilt as well.

I think its a fair comparison. Truly utilize the internetMacintosh (iMac) you had to pay an ISP to use the internet, so yes a recurring monthly charge was needed.

For those of you on Android, I recomend Jorte, simple and minimalistic like the iphone options, and rich with features. It's free in price and so far ad-free. It syncs with google calendar, as well as google tasks.

I must disagree with the cleaning solution. I find that a mix of 99% ethyl alcohol with distilled water works best. You want to make it in a 80(h2o)/20(ethoh) concentration. Spray it on your cloth and wipe. Works for monitors as well. You need something to break up the dust. Water just moves it around and cakes it in the corners.

Surge Protectors are a big DUH! If you can afford it, have one with a line conditioner built in. Clean power makes for happy gadgets. Also NEVER EVER plug your TV into your cable box. You are asking for trouble.

For me tech is too personal to rent. Everyone doesn't treat tech the same. If I purchase it I know the "chain of custody" of said tech. Besides I am a gadget addict. I cant get it knowing I have to give it back or pay twice of what its worth to keep it.
