I used to love making grilled cheese sandwiches with an iron when I was little. All you would need to bring along is a roll of waxed paper (a piece around the sandwich so it doesn't touch the iron) and then moderate heat until things are nice and toasted!

The seasonless argument in my family: Should lefse be rolled or folded? There are stanch supporters on each side but I think the debate is more for fun than for keeping traditions alive. Anyone know if there is a "proper" way to serve lefse?

Leftover sweet potato and black bean burrito on a flour tortilla with a little shredded cheddar, plain yogurt, salsa and baby spinach. Yum!

I saw the "coming soon" signs and just about flipped out! Hooray!

@medusa12120 Unless you live in place where the kitchen is the size of a postage stamp and are renting...We have taken the doors off the majority of our kitchen cabinets in the past two places we have lived and it makes a world of difference. Especially since we have Fiesta dishes and all the bright colors liven up the space. Personal preference I suppose but I feel claustrophobic in kitchens with too many "blank" planes.

The best tomato sauce I ever made had leftover summer squash and carrots shredded into it-sweet and fresh tasting without knowing why. Oh, and a sprig of rosemary! Just be sure to fish it out before serving or it will look like you are trying to pass off pine needles as food.

I second the earth colors, mauras. Blue and green can feel really institutional sometimes and in a dorm I was always craving personality.

Tea time reminds me of the dinner scene in Beauty and the Beast. Ahh childhood. :)

Ghostgirl, funny you should say that: I was just at IKEA today and they had fiber optic pendant lights for Christmas! I can't promise their quality or beauty but they were there none the less!
