Your sister should totally start selling those prints on Etsy: I'd consider buying them, too.

Any recommendation for smaller media furniture? I'd love to have something that's not much wider than my actual (modestly sized) televison, maybe under two feet long.

I LOVE the way these look, but does anyone else find that felt attracts dust when left out for long periods of time? Maybe it's easier to clean than I think it is, but this seems like a major drawback of felt in home decorating... I had some of those felted decorative "pebbles" for a while, but they were dust magnets!

Are these a joke? True, I guess they're free, but I would never hand something like this out. I'm so over Google.

Wow, maybe the person who knows all about "eyelet screws, anchor screws, toggle bolts, l brac[k]ets or high test line wire" should post a tutorial or link to some useful information about them.

In the meantime, this post addressed exactly some of the issues I've been thinking about lately. I don't want a headboard, am new to the west coast and have never had any need to worry about framed pictures or shelves flying off walls, and don't know how to hang a framed picture safely without damaging the walls of my rental apartment (I've had bad experiences with toggle bolts). I'm living with a blank wall over my bed as a result. Paint seems like an interesting way to address both the earthquake issue and the simple issue of not wanting or having a headboard. I can also see a lightweight item (maybe even one of the horizontal frazier & wing sculptures from the nearby post?) working. What other ideas do people have about working without a headboard?

Why do you say you keep book buying to a minimum? I guess they're impractical, but for me, piles and piles of books (hand-chosen!) make a home. The more the merrier! Maybe I'm a glutton...

A new grey and green tote with pleated sides to bring to the office, baby gifts for all my friends who are having babies: stuffed toys, bibs and burp cloths, blankies. Will finally be confident making buttonholes, so might try some clothing for a change: little jackets or tops? Pillows with piped edges. Maybe I'll get started on that quilt project I bought all the materials for. And my husband feels loved when I custom-make his pillowcases...

This store is the best. I love it so much. True that it's near Scharffen Berger cafe, but also check out 900 Grayson, which is a great brunch and lunch restaurant right around the corner from Relish, a very easy walk. This is my husband's favorite burger in the Bay Area, but they also have great chicken and waffles... you'll like the space there, too.

This is fabulous! And it's a perfect opportunity to ask: I have a lantern I need to hang from a very high ceiling in a room with wood walls. I've seen the 15-inch IKEA lightbulb cords, but ideally I'd like something a little longer and a little more translucent or browner. Where would I look for something like this? Would it be common in a "real" lighting store?
