The bunting and the quilt really make this work for me. Now I'm thinking about yellow accents for my own grey room!

Duluth represent! It seems like the dark interior almost makes the light from the windows brighter- this is one of the more inspiring small spaces I've seen.

Any recommendations for a slimmer skirt hanger? Those are the ones really making my closet inefficient...

Create a Tidy Open Closet (Without Tossing All of Your Clothes!)

This is a terrible idea. There's a reason walk-in closets cannot be called bedrooms - unless there's a window in there, there is no means of egress in case of fire. And as noted above, this would make it just a little harder for someone else to find your child if there's an emergency. It's a cute idea, but the risk outweighs the benefit.

This makes perfect sense, though the price is a bit... much. If you don't have a lot of space and you cannot put holes in the wall, this would be a very clever solution!

I live in SF and used a CL mover for the first time a couple of years ago. That guy (his name is Rick) is now programmed into my cell phone. Every errant thrift store find and major move has been with him ever since... I think about six separate hauls. I adore him, and I only found him because I took a chance on CL.

I would totally paint a portrait of your couch. Or you on your couch. But ideally just the couch. Then hang the painting over the new couch. It isn't meta if you mean it.

Magazine Rack - $10
San Francisco Scavenger

In Saint Paul, MN, I had a 2 bedroom, hardwood floors, nice neighborhood (Mac-Groveland) and balcony for $875.

In San Francisco, 30 minute bus ride from downtown, I had a studio by the park for $1350. Now I pay $630 for a bedroom... and only because my roommate had 14 years of rent control behind her.

San Francisco in insanely expensive, but the transit to the other side of the bay is an issue after midnight.

I lived in a bizarre warehouse conversion with 20' ceilings in the common areas and 59" ceilings in my space. It has floor-to-ceiling windows facing the common area, and I'm only 5'5", so I could stand just fine. It was strange, and I don't think I would do it again, but it was an interesting design challenge!
