I think it's really sweet that you want to take your plants with you. Maybe look on Craigslist for someone else who is driving across country? How Can I Move Plants Cross Country? Good Questions |

I love this tour and others that seem like a real house with real people on a real budget. This home is so much more appealing to me than a remodeled studio that cost a zillion dollars and has everything brand new and top of the line. You can feel the heart and love of the guys who live here and it shows how creative they are in an "imperfect" (aka pretty normal for most people) space. Love it! Yes! I love the MCM furniture in the craftsman setting -- who'd've thunk it would work so well -- they achieve a great balance together. I love how spare the things are -- gives an airy yet substantial feel. Very funny interview -- great tour! (Also, not so heavy on the Stuff Close Ups which makes it much more enjoyable viewing!). What a great video -- it's so cool to learn the story behind objects and why people treasure them. I love that your grandmother read you kids the book about how to care for her goldfish. This was so nice. :) Our Very First Reader-Submitted: My Favorite Thing Video Apartment Therapy Reader Videos |

I dunno. The Bloomsbury one seems much less bad, but maybe b/c it's out of focus? What will these kids do to rebel if they're encouraged to scribble on the furniture?? Sheesh. Aah or Eek!? Drawing on the Furniture |

Jackie G, God forbid something went wrong and there was a fire or something as a result of you re-wiring and monkeying around with the lighting/electricity -- you'd be totally liable. Leases are there to protect both parties -- if you want to change something that significant, ask your landlord/lady to do it for you so they assume any potential liability and so that it is done to their satisfaction, as they are the owners of the property. The write up is really interesting -- the process of adding a basement was great to read. But the photos are mostly of stuff -- I don't get a sense of the flow of the home. The photos make it look more like a shop than a house. I wish I could see some of the rooms in whole and how they relate to each other. Anna & Joe's Living History in Georgetown House Tour |

This is such a great post. The marketing departments out there in the world thrive on selling us stuff we don't need to be people we aren't, whether it's house stuff, clothing, even food (fancy food). They have gazillions in advertising dollars and a stable of psychologists trying to convince us at every turn, but if we can remember who we really are, we have a chance at not being scammed into buying junk we don't need.
