2 cats also, and lucky enough to have a small yard with a dry sheltered area at one end.

I have dispensed with litter. For the urine, I use plastic 'storage' boxes, one inside the other and the top one has holes drilled in the base so the urine drains through. I line the bottom with nice smooth pebbles so it looks nice. They have one each. I empty the bottom compartment once a week.

For the solids, I give them the freedom of using the concrete floor space around the urine boxes and swoop down there with toilet tissue (not kitchen roll which would cause blockage) so that it can be picked up and flushed or otherwise disposed of.

I applaud your feelings for the bee.

The bee is a tiny animal - its insides get clogged up with carbon nanoparticles - and it dies.

I wonder if you can all work out where those nanoparticles come from.

Hi, AT,

I found the stupendously beautiful 'Louis Ghost' chair through your site.

Philippe Starck rules.

But cheap substitutes?

Starck works with, for example, Kartell, to mass produce his pieces so that economies of scale make them affordable.

He doesn't have to do that. He could produce limited editions and bring in the same income.

A little respect, please.

Hi,

My visits to Apartment Therapy are always rewarded: brilliant site.

On the Dublin house, I love that low natural light in the bedroom - and also the white bed. That's my kind of bed. But it looks like a plain uncovered duvet on top. Does the duvet get washed (or replaced) to keep it clean? Is it covered by a thin white cover that lets the shape of the pockets show through?

Does anyone on AT know how to get that look?

:))
